SO much to celebrate! ❤️

Yesterday was my bakery assistant and delivery man’s birthday. He may be getting older, but he’s still a kid at heart. 😘 Of course, he requested sourdough, so we’ll be baking two Sourdough Lemon Cakes to celebrate twice—especially since we’ll have company visiting (and won’t be attending the first markets this season) 🍋🍰

We also reached 2,000 followers on this page, and what a sweet place to be.

As many of you know, I’m working toward cutting back to baking just once a week. If I have a market day or rain day or bakery cart day, you’ll always find those updates right here on my page.

The truth is, I’m already busy enough with regular orders that I don’t really advertise anymore. One day, I may even disappear from Facebook altogether. Having my phone number may end up being the best way to reach me in the future. 😊

When I started baking sourdough, I never intended to build a business. I simply wanted to bake and share. I love baking. Somewhere along the way, what started as sharing bread, knowledge, and starter turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I’ve already surpassed every goal I ever had for this little bakery, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of you. Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and for giving me grace while I figured out how to keep this from becoming a business that runs me instead of something I genuinely enjoy.

I want to continue baking because I love it—not because I feel obligated to.

Thank you for supporting this journey, for sharing my bread with your families, and for allowing me the freedom to slow down and enjoy this season of life.

Things just keep getting better and better, and I am so grateful, humbled, and thankful—to all of you and to Him—for it all. ❤️

🐓🥚 I’ve had a few messages asking if I’ll have bread at the cart today—the answer is no. I won’t have any fresh bread out today, but I will be putting some eggs on the cart.

Egg supply is a little low right now because we sold 8 dozen eggs yesterday, and we currently have way too many broody hens! If you’ve never had chickens, a broody hen is one that decides she wants to hatch chicks. When she’s focused on sitting on a nest, she usually stops laying eggs, which means fewer eggs in the basket for us. 😅

Thank you all for keeping us busy and supporting our little egg cart and bakery. I’ll be sure to post when extra fresh bread is headed back to the cart! I have a few orders to catch up on first, but with the beautiful weather lately, I’ve been spending a little more time outside in the garden and a little less time in the kitchen. ☀️🌿 Did you catch that rainbow and sunset last night?? Wowza!

Life is way too short for boring bread. 🫐🍓🍞

A regular customer ordered a strawberry cream cheese loaf and a blueberry cream cheese loaf. Seeing all that red, white, and blue inspiration had me wondering… why not combine them into one loaf?

The result? This strawberry & blueberry cream cheese sourdough loaf, and it did not disappoint. ♥️🤍💙

Packed with creamy pockets of sweetened cream cheese and swirls of strawberry and blueberry goodness, it was every bit as delicious as it sounds and looks.

Can crackers be beautiful? We think so!
I will shout out my sourdough starter Blanche any chance I get.. would you get a load of these beautiful crackers!? Sourdough crackers + edible flowers! Often my sourdough students teach ME things and this is one I will totally be trying Walker Family Homestead in Canada made these and I can’t stop thinking about how I need to as well. Great job!!

🥖☀️ Happy June! Bakery peeks on a Monday morning ☀️🥖

Six sandwich loaves cooling on the rack for Monday morning deliveries, blueberry bagels proofing under the plastic tote, and three loaves of oatmeal molasses bread started in the small mixer, while the big 20-quart Hobart does its dough dump—enough dough for 10 loaves headed into the bin for stretch and folds.

Out the window, the egg and bakery cart. No fresh-baked sourdough on the cart today, but there are fresh eggs available! 🥚🤍

In between bread timers, I’m sneaking out to the deck to enjoy a little breakfast and soak up the morning sunshine. The mixer and hummingbirds are humming, the kitchen smells amazing, and another day of homemade sourdough bread is well underway. 🥖🌿

The oven is loaded, the kitchen smells amazing, and orders are getting filled! I’ll also have extras available today that will be headed out to the roadside cart — I’ll post again once everything is stocked and ready. 🤍
