🌻 Two Years of The Flour Shop
Two years. 🥹🎂
Two years ago, we opened the doors to The Flour Shop with a lot of hope, a lot of nerves, a whole lot of hard work, and absolutely no idea just how much this little bakery would become a part of our lives.
And somehow, here we are.
Two years later.
This year especially has reminded us just how lucky we are to have the customers we do. You didn't just show up for us this year. You showed up even more. You kept coming through our doors, bringing your families and friends, ordering cakes for your biggest celebrations, grabbing a donut on a random Wednesday, telling people about us, sharing our posts, and choosing to spend your hard-earned money at our little, locally owned bakery.
That means more to us than we can really put into words. ❤️
Because the truth is, running a small bakery is hard. Really, really hard.
It's early mornings and late nights. It's sore feet, tired brains, endless dishes, mountains of flour, temperamental equipment, 50-pound bags that somehow always need to be moved when you're already exhausted, and the occasional moment where you stare at the kitchen and wonder if maybe you should have chosen a nice, quiet desk job instead. 😂
It's missing weekends. It's working when everyone else is celebrating. It's trying to make everything perfect when there are approximately 47 things happening at once.
But then someone walks through the door and tells us they look forward to our donuts every week.
Someone brings their child in for their first birthday cake.
Someone picks up an order for a celebration we've been trusted to be a small part of.
Someone tells us, “We drove all the way here because we heard about you.”
And suddenly, the exhaustion makes a little more sense.
That’s what makes it worth it and what keeps us going.
We are so incredibly thankful for every single person who has supported us over these past two years. Whether you've been with us since day one or just discovered us last week, you have helped make The Flour Shop what it is today. This bakery exists because people in this community continue to believe in and support a small business.
And we can't talk about two years without talking about the people behind the scenes.
To our employees: thank you for putting up with the chaos, the early mornings, the endless cleaning, the busy days, the last-minute problems, and probably more flour than any reasonable person should encounter. 😂 Thank you for working hard and caring about this place. We genuinely couldn't do this without you.
To Mom and Dad: there is no possible way to thank you enough for everything you've done to help us get here. From jumping in when we need an extra set of hands to helping solve problems, moving things, fixing things, listening to me panic about things,😅 and supporting this crazy little dream from the beginning, you have been an enormous part of The Flour Shop. I am incredibly grateful for you. ❤️
And to our wonderful next-door neighbors, Bel Floral 💐🌻 and Fitting Room, thank you for being so much more than neighbors. You've become friends, fellow small-business owners, sounding boards, collaborators, and part of what makes our little corner of town feel like home. We couldn't ask for better people to share this adventure with.
Three years ago, The Flour Shop was an idea, and two years ago it became a reality.
Today, it's a place filled with the smell of fresh bread, the sound of mixers running, racks full of donuts, flour on basically every available surface, people coming in to celebrate life's little moments, and a whole lot of memories we never could have imagined making.
We are tired. We are grateful. We are proud. We are covered in flour and frosting. And we wouldn't trade it for anything. ❤️
Thank you for two incredible years.
Thank you for trusting us with your celebrations.
Thank you for choosing local.
Thank you for showing up.
And thank you for making this little bakery feel like so much more than a business.
Here's to year three. 🥂🎂🌻
We're excited to see what comes next.
Although, if year three could maybe come with fewer dishes and a little more sleep, we'd appreciate that. 😂
Thank you. We love you, now come grab a cookie and celebrate with us!
