Get your hats ready, It's horse racing season, y'all! Who's gone to the races? The Kentucky Derby, from what I understand, is such a fun experience. Long ago, when my daughter was in elementary school, they would have a fundraiser called "Night at the Races." I didn't understand it much but volunteered at the event. It was always so entertaining to watch the people's excitement in placing their bets to see if their horse was the winner. Now that I'm older, I am trying to convince my friends to plan for opening day at Del Mar....who wants to go?

I've been asked so many times, "What's your specialty?"....🤔 This question always makes me question myself, "Should I have a specialty, should I just sell one type of dessert option, do people only want to see/buy one type of dessert, and on and on". Then I realize, no, I love what I do. Is it a challenge? Yes, at times, it could be, but I've gotten better. I love the reaction my clients and their guest express when they see the array and options of desserts they can choose from at their event. I love that for a moment, while admiring the buffet of sweets, they can forget about anything that's going on in their word. I love that for a split second, they forget about their troubles while looking at the options, then choosing what dessert to expirence and their expression while eating and tasting the different flavors. I love that for a couple of minutes, they share and talk amongst one another about what they thought about it. I love that you can see the different personalities and their prefrence when they choose what to eat. Food brings everyone together, Dessert brings out the love, laughter and comfort out of everyone. So maybe I do specialize in something.....I specialize in smiles and in "awww's" and "gasps" and in "mmmmm's".

Churro flavored anything is always a good idea, Right?! This little guy right here is just an absolute joy to indulge in. It's like a neverending dessert course of goodness!!! The first course is a home made churro dust with cinnamon and sugar then drizzled with Dulce de leche, second layer is a home made churro butter cream that is drizzled with more Dulce de leche, then you get to the actual cupcake, which is churro flavored and filled with....you guessed it Dulce de leche! Don't lick the screen, slide in our DM's and place an order instead! 😉😁

Last week, I had the opportunity to make a few desserts for a Hollywood celebrity couple that was in town visiting. I was tasked to make desserts for their private dinner, that was prepared by chef These were the desserts; strawberry Shortcake cake, Lemon Tiramisu, white chocolate and pastry cream berry and fruit sphere (not pictured 🫤) and the last dessert was the Guava Chiffon mini cake. Thank you so much chef for thinking of me. I guess I can add, 'Celebrity Dessert Designer', to my resume now, Lol! 😉😅😂
