Season 4 Ep6 Cheeky Bastrds - British Restaurant & Tea Room we are here in the Geist area for an authentic British breakfast.
Just opened in January, this is the place to go for something other than traditional eggs/potatoes/sausage gravy we normally order.
Kurt ordered the egg/avocado/cheese bap on fresh made bagel (think breakfast sandwich). Not a very daring selection but it’s still a 10 Fork sandwich!
Doug ordered Yorkshire Eggs: Poached eggs (2), house made hummus, Za'atar roasted mushrooms, avocado oil, on everything bagel. It was awesome! The bagel was unique in flavor and texture, perfect for scooping eggs/humus/mushrooms onto the bagel! Great combination of flavors and would order again.
We did try the Black Pudding and agreed that it’s a British delicacy.
What is Black Pudding? From the scource of all things true, Wikipedia
Black pudding is a distinct regional type of blood sausage originating in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is made from pork or beef blood, with pork fat or beef suet, and a cereal, usually oatmeal, oat groats, or barley groats. The high proportion of cereal, along with the use of certain herbs such as pennyroyal, serves to distinguish black pudding from blood sausages eaten in other parts of the world.
Our thoughts on Black Pudding? The chef and waitresses all said they were “proud of us for trying it.” It confirms our original statement, it’s a British delicacy.
Sorry for having to pull pics off there website, we cleaned our plates and the realized we forgot
authentic food pics. Cmon Dumas.
BUT……we’re coming back for Fish n Chips the Cheeky Bastards way!
