Hi everyone almost 2 months after the hurricane and we are at a standstill because we need a COMMERCIAL contractor to do drywall, yes ,you read it right, drywall. The city of Indian Shores requires a permit to do drywall. We desperately need a commercial contractor to pull the permit. We have had three contractors, totally flake out! If you know of anybody, can you please reach out to us! Small businesses keep our communities vibrant…

Update: over 7 weeks since Hurricane Helene hit… it’s still a very slow recovery, we have the shop gutted to repair but waiting on General Contractors and city permits has us moving like a herd of turtles.

We are grateful and hopeful that by the end of 2024 we’ll be sling’ing espresso and muffins to our community!

Our go fund me has provided replacement of equipment and products. Our staff is nestled in our Crow coffee shops until we open again….

We are so excited to serve you again ❤️

Please share our GoFundMe campaign with your network, including family, friends, and the broader online community. Unfortunately, securing assistance from insurance providers, FEMA, and the Small Business Administration has proven challenging & impossible, making this fundraising effort crucial to our reopening and serving our community!

Thank you Keep Saint Petersburg Local for sharing our go fund me and others in great need at this time. The loss of small independent businesses is so real. Please please everyone buy local… the money stays in your town… supports families in your town… create resources in your town. ❤️🐦‍⬛❤️

Friends, *NOW* is the time to support the local businesses that make St. Pete so special! 💪 They're always the first ones to show up when our community needs them the most. 💯 We need to show up for them *NOW* because they are ALL struggling, some worse than others! 💔 We understand that time and finances are stretched thin, so our recommendation is that you think of your favorite/s and make sure you do *everything* possible to support them, so that they can make it through this! 🫶

If you can spare any funds, here are the links to several of those who've shared that they really need help to rebuild/keep their doors open (please share links to any others in the comments 👇). Thank you in advance for everything you can do RIGHT NOW to help Keep Saint Petersburg Local! 🙏

❤️ Black Crow Coffee Co Old Northeast - their "Mothership" Indian Shores Coffee Co (that opened 17 years ago) took a severe hit during Helene & they're trying to rebuild: 🔗 gofundme.com/f/help-restore-our-beloved-community-coffee-shop 🔗
❤️ Book + Bottle - They've "pulled back the veil" and are asking for help: 🔗 venmo.com/u/book-and-bottle 🔗
❤️ GypsySouls Coffee St. Pete - Lost their roof, which caused thousands in damages, just when they were trying to recover from losses during Helene.

❤️ Nightshift Wax Co. - They had to close their brick-and-mortar storefront after their slowest year ever, and lost their homes during Helene. They're trying to keep their brand alive:

❤️ Wild Roots - Suffered some damage, but even more devastating is the loss of private events, workshops and markets.

Again we want to thank everyone for reaching out and sending their thoughts and prayers for us and everybody in this community.

As you all may know the second hurricane Milton hit with entirely different type of devastation for the community. We are grateful that we didn’t sustain any additional damage at the coffee shop. Here is an update from this weekend, which is continued removal of floors and walls. Now waiting on building permit approvals.

Thank you for all that donated to our gofund me! This will be a long recovery but we are looking forward to seeing your smiling beautiful faces soon! Serving our community will have our hearts singing again!

Good news, we should have power in a few days!!! Greg and I + wonderful volunteers will start demolition of the floors and walls on Saturday. It will be a slow process as the heat reaches up into the low 90's with humidity.

I was wondering if you might look to find any photos of past visits to Indian Shores Coffee and share them ....we're gonna kick this off by sharing a few of our PAST photos from over the years! And more later!
All the happy pictures of people over the years would so CHEER us up. We've shed many tears and smiles from reading everyones beautiful posts!

We are so humbled and grateful to have received such generous out pouring of love, hugs and donations in our first couple days of fundraising!

Fire and rescue have been in to check the building. We still have no power. They turned off the gas and informed us water levels appear as high as 5 ft. All equipment , furniture , counters, flooring & kitchen walls will have to be replaced, even our espresso machine & beloved piano was on its side and a total loss, we have no flood insurance. The power of storm surge is devastating.

All our staff came in to clean & remove all contents of the building in gross heat, a grease trap that back up all over the floors, sand and mud everywhere.

One thing that this devastation can't take away is the charm, memories of music, laughter and happy faces visiting our shop. We will see you again...17 years will not begone.

If you have the time we would love if you could share our go fund me with friends, family or others in the community. It will really help make a difference to reaching our goal. Again, thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!

Good morning….This comes with a whole lotta sadness and difficulty…The heart of our businesses are our employees, our community and our love of coffee. Hurricane Helene ravaged our coastline and our mothership Indian Shores Coffee took a severe hit. It opened 17 years ago. We've watched our kids and many others grow up, play music ...fall in love. It is VERY difficult to ask for help. Our employees wellbeing is so important to us . The whole coastal recovery will greatly impact business and not to mention the rebuild:(❤️So many are hurting right now.
