The wedding is approaching soon.

Market season is starting, this is how the next few weeks is looking.

For the Harbor Springs Farmers Market we will only be missing May 30th.

The Downtown Petoskey Farmers Market is starting a week late due to construction downtown. 1st day is May 29th, we will not be missing any markets here.

We officially start Charlevoix Farmers Market on June 4th.

And we start Boyne City Farmers Market on June 13th, this year we will be attending on Saturdayā€™s only.

This coming weekend you can find us naturally at Harbor Springs Farmers Market 9-1.
Pond Hill Farm from 12-4 on Saturday.
40 Mile Point Lighthouse Saturday and Sunday.

We are set up in Afton for the craft show. Sun is shining, people are out and about. Come check out all the vendors, the building also has multiple vendors. Hot Dog lunch and bake goods are available also.

This was the first loaf of soap I ever made over 3 1/2 years ago, and honestly, it was terrible! It didnā€™t lather well and left my skin feeling dry.
Back then, I wanted to make soap for my family because my fiancƩ is sensitive to many body products. We got goats, and I started researching how to make soap.
I was ready, so I thought! Gathered oils, set them all
on the table. We chose some, and I entered them into a soap calculator. Recipe created, easy peasy. šŸ˜‚ I'm
a take it by the horns type of girl. I didn't want to use someone else's recipe. So when this turned out horrible. That took me down a rabbit hole, and I got lost there years ago.
I researched what makes a good bar of soap and what different oils offer to the end product. Learned about fatty acid profiles of each oil. And went back to formulating, tweaked the recipe over time. Now we have the soap we have all come to love. A gorgeous creamy lather that leaves your skin soft - bonus, they are long-lasting bars of soap.
I was making more soap than I knew what to do with, and I fell in love with the whole process. I started taking them to work, and then they allowed me to sell them to our customers.
My family, friends, bosses, co-workers, and the 1st initial customers were so encouraging and supportive. It helped fuel my newfound passion.
This is how Birch n Lavender Apothecary started. A girl wanting to make soap for her family turned into a whole business based on family-driven needs that extend to your family.

All set up at Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival

What a week, I finished the Wander Packs due to a late shipment at 7 am this morning. I wanted to wait until last moment, ya know itā€™s fun that way šŸ¤£ Actually spent a much needed week a couple weeks ago at my sons in Indiana.

Then home to make stuff. It all needs to be as freshly made as possible. Lotions (5 scents plus leave me be) , Whipped Tallow Creams, Sugar Scrubs, salves and more salves, lip balms, leave me be spray, pulling soap from the curing racks and labeling, you get the point , and itā€™s just the start.

Today was eventful 20 minutes into our 2 hour trip, truck issues, no biggie letā€™s go home unload the farm truck (itā€™s a farm truck so full of stuff) load the farm truck and on our way. Rush to set up because you know we are behind schedule now.

Let me tell you, please donā€™t judge a vendor that may be sitting down. It feels nice to sit and breathe for a few. Itā€™s been a rush of a week, day light to midnight. Making sure what I am bringing to market is perfect for you!

I know this sounds hectic and crazy, I would not trade what I love doing for any other career!! When I get the comments of how someone loves a product, how they feels it helps them, the continued return customers. It makes every long night worth it.

The season is beginning, this is just the start. See everyone soon at our home markets.

Twin Bears Wooded Campground is providing free sites to local residents in need. Bring your camper and stay dry, I ment with Alanda today, and she is wanting to help our local residents in need.
