I'm Melody, the human behind Black Velvet Bakery.

I'm a small business mama that started baking as a way to quiet my mind and my ever present anxiety. I've always said that my love language is food, particularly the sweet variety. It's a way to share a small piece of myself and my love, even when I can't seem to do it with words.

That being said, thank you so much for checking out my little cottage bakery and all of the beautiful chaos we've been able to get ourselves into. I can't wait to share a little bit of that sweet enthusiasm with you.
