New Item Alert!

Back in the day of 1 Fine Cafe, we made cinnamon bread for our French toast. It was really tasty. Today, I have made a modified version of that very bread. Tender, brioche-like loaf bread with addition of raisin medley. Plump raisins, and cinnamon brown sugar rolled up in a tender, eggy, buttery bread. You can eat it right out of the bag, but it's even better lightly toasted and buttered. So good.

We also have 4 flavors of savory hand pies today. Louisianna Nachitoches (pork, beef, cajun spices), Indian Curry, traditional Chicken, and Pork Green Chili.

We also have a limited number of Strawberry Rhubarb Scones, and Bacon, Cheddar, Chive scones.

Soup of the Day is Portuguese Sausage and Lentil. Linguica sausage, onion, garlic, saffron, paprika, house-made chicken stock, Aleppo pepper, salt, and pepper.

Just a side not on our Raspberry Cream Cheese Danish. We recently sourced a most wonderful raspberry preserve that contains only 4 ingredients: raspberries, sugar, pectin, and citric acid. This product is a great upgrade for an already tasty danish. Come try one for yourselves!

Saturday Bake Sale is Live...and I can promise you that it's dryer in here than at the Farmers Market. We planned ahead and made some comforting Chicken Pot Pies for 2, along with a slew of savory hand pies. We also have the ever-popular Chocolate Cream Puffs and the huge variety of hand-crafted baked goods you already know.

GF Alert!

We usually leave the GF stuff to the pros over at The Guardian, but just by chance, our very own Chocolate Truffle Torte is void of any flour. This simple, but super luxurious dessert is made from Belgian chocolate, butter, and whipped eggs that are folded together, and just baked through, We top it with our house-made raspberry coulis, fresh raspberries, and vanilla whipped cream. None of the flour, all of the goodness!

On the lighter side, tomorrow, we’ll be making one of our most popular prepared foods, the Greek Wedge Salad with Seared Shrimp or Chicken. Crispy Romaine lettuce, heirloom grape tomatoes, bell pepper, Kalamata olives, cucumber, feta cheese, pepperoncinis, and shaved red onions with house-made Greek vinaigrette.

Ok, so I ate Chocolate Cream Pie twice yesterday. A few bites for breakfast, and the rest for a later dessert. The filling is a rich custard made from Belgian chocolate, egg yolk, espresso powder, and heavy cream. Once cooked, the filling is poured into a pre-baked, all-butter pie shell. After it sets completely, we top it with Chantilly cream, and a dusting of Dutch cocoa powder.

If you like chocolate, you’ll love this pie’s velvety texture, and incredible flavor.

For best results, let pie sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to let the butter in the crust loosen up slightly.

We also have a fresh batch of Strawberry Rhubarb galettes. Super fresh, super good!

UPDATE! Guinness Beef Pot Pie is Sold Out! We’ll have more tomorrow!

Good Thrusday Morning!

In case you forgot, or haven't seen recent posts, we do have fresh, just out of the oven, Guiness Meat Pie's.
Choice beef braised in Guiness Stout with carrots, onion, tomato, and sharp cheddar, with the proper amount of Worcestershire suace, baked in tender, house made blitz puff pastry. We made these during Saint Patrick's Day, and due to popular demand, they are back for a limited time.
Really, these treats are super special... but then you'll never know unless you try.

As I mentioned in a previous post, we do have Cuban Sandwiches today. There were 12 made, there's only 11 for sale. Lunch is served!
