I’m starting to gain followers I’m not familiar with, which is amazing, so I thought I’d take a second to introduce myself!
My name is Molly! I’m originally from Orange City but have been living in Ida Grove for the past five years. If I look familiar, it may be because I’ve worked at Horn Physicians Clinic (and the hospital) the entire time I’ve lived here. I have an amazing boyfriend, Brady, who is a deputy sheriff for Ida County. I have three older kids—Taya (9), Haelyn (6), and Kane (5)—and together Brady and I have a son, Briggs (2).
Briggs is the main reason behind my cake pop adventure! When he was 6 months old, he got sick with enterovirus meningitis, which unfortunately caused some damage to the right side of his brain. Briggs is now epileptic, has left-sided weakness, and has some GI issues that can occur with brain injuries. We spend a lot of time going to Omaha for appointments and to Cherokee for therapy twice a week. We felt it would be best to have one of us at home with Briggs every day to give him the support he needs, so we made the decision to cut back my hours at Horn.
I feel so blessed to get so much time with my kids, but I found myself getting extremely bored at home and needed a way to stay busy! (I can only clean the same things over and over so many times 😆) I love making Oreo balls around Christmas, so I thought maybe I could expand from that—and that’s how my cake pop journey began!
I’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of support I’ve received over the past few months and can’t wait to make more cake pops for everyone. Thank you all so much! 🥰
