Today is my birthday and I wanted to start the morning off by saying thank you to my mom, my husband and our six children, my amazing employees and our awesome fantastic customers!

Over the years a lot of people have asked me where I had the idea of opening a bakery…and this is where we thank my mom…BB!

Growing up she made all our cakes. She was blessed to work for a cake store in south Huntsville (custom cakes and candies!) and this woman could draw just about anything on a cake! From swim parties to strawberry shortcake to Mickey Mouse with a license plate for 16 she knocked it out of the park year after year! I also developed my love of cookie cakes and carrot cake from her because these two are her speciality and beyond delicious!

BB is the one who encouraged me to open the store. She found the space to lease and if you come in one holidays or the summer time you’ll be sure to see her in the back still helping me bake cakes, frost cupcakes and wash dishes. She is relentless in her commitment to me and the U and I love her more than words can say.

Today I am also thankful for my husband and all of our children. They sacrifice more than they should for long hours at work, weekends filled with deliveries and a mom who is 99% of the time covered in frosting and flour. They don’t complain and as the kids get older their willingness to help with the store makes my heart proud.

Without my amazing employees none of this would be possible. They work hard day in and day out to make the creations come to life. They invest time in their craft to stay up with trends and they go above and beyond to make this store run smoothly. Without each of them (past and present) we would not be where we are today

To our customers. Yesterday I had more than a few people say “I hope yall will be around for a long time bc my kids are little and we don’t want to go anywhere else!” These comments warm my soul and remind me that in a small way you have all allowed my little bakery to be part of so many of your family celebrations

A lot has changed in eight years. We started small, expanded and then due to rising cost of landlord demands we made the decision earlier this year to shrink back to our original size. Monday September 11 will be our eight year birthday… EIGHT YEARS! We were thinking: since we are in the business of helping people celebrate their events with cakes and desserts… why don’t we make Monday (our birthday)… OME DOLLAR CUPCAKE DAY! That’s right! $1.00 each! Whether you buy one or one hundred… they will be $1 each with no minimum required and no limits! We will have assorted flavors ready and will be baking all day so come celebrate with us and leave happy! We will be there by 7:30am and close up at 4pm $1.00 cupcakes!! What better way to celebrate EIGHT YEARS!
