2 tier Conventional Pineapple Cake with Pineapple Buttercream. Made to look like a pirate ship on top of choppy water atop of a treasure map. The coins are made from dark chocolate dusted with luster dust made from beta carotene (carrots) and the sand is made from crushed shortbread cookies and sugar. The sails aren't edible. The top tier was supposed to be a 6 inch cake but I made it way too large. I'm happy with the final result but if I did this again, I would make a much smaller ship. That way I could have had room to add the octopus I originally planned on pulling the ship down into the sea.

Please ignore the plug....I don't have photoshop and have no clue how to remove it. That said, this is my first gravity defying cake! AND my first Marble cake. 8 inch and 6 inch 2 tier Vegan Marble Cake with Vanilla frosting. Decorated with Spidey and his amazing friends. I'll admit, I had a Murphy's Law 2 day span for every part of this cake. Everything that could go wrong, most definitely did. First I made the most ridiculous mistake while mixing the chocolate and while I fixed it and the cake baked just fine, it put me in a panic mode to fix it. Then the humidity affected the frosting causing the sugar to not fully incorporate into the fluid and fats making the frosting grainy, which caused more panic. I tried everything to fix it, EVERYTHING. I've never had that happen before but this alabama heat, is insane. Luckily, I was able to let the frosting rest covered overnight and it was fine by the next day before decorating. THEN, oh yes there's more......then the organic vegan butter I use (made with cashews and coconut oil mostly) had tiny little bits of cashews in it that weren't as fine as usual leading to clogged piping tips constantly throughout decorating. It resulted in shaky looking piping and the need to erase half of what I had planned for this cake. I erased and redid the same part of the design 5 times before deciding, I'd rather give a simpler yet beautiful cake than a hot mess of a cake. In the end, it came out looking pretty good, and that's saying alot since I'm a maximalist in every sense of the word. I think I might have actually prayed to the cake gods for this one and they answered my prayers 🤣 nothing left to do but laugh at it, so I thought I'd share a laugh with you all too!

Meet Cakezilla! Not an original idea, but the moment my client said Godzilla cake, I jumped at the chance and asked if we could put a dress on him. Not only that, but I was then given the strangest request for a flavor and boy was I shocked at how delicious it turned out to be. This is a 5 layer 4,5,6,7,8 inch Conventional Honey Cake, soaked in a Honey Simple Syrup and layered with Peanut Butter Buttercream. I hope they enjoyed eating it as much as I enjoyed making it.

It's my sister's birthday and she sent me a million and one inspiration pictures with only one thing in common, the colors black, red and gold. So I took the liberty of trying something new. The red is a buttercream stencil and I think im in love. I can't wait to do more stenciled cakes. It was also my first time doing a rope border. It seems like I'm always saying it's my first time trying something but the ideas of how to decorate are endless, so there will be alot more to try out yet. I almost always forget to post when I make cupcakes, but I need you all to know how delicious this new flavor is because I'm OBSESSED! These are Conventional Spiced Apple Cake with a Salted Caramel buttercream, topped with a pinch of large flake sea salt and a homemade Caramel drizzle. The other set is Gluten Free Lemon Blueberry cake with Cream Cheese frosting. I might have eaten 1 or 5 of these, they are sooooooo delicious. 😋

I'm so excited that I finally got to try this cake trend of cutting the cake in half. Usually the inside of the cake is filled with flowers, but thanks to my very creative friend, I got to create moss and dirt layers that look like layers of cake. The dirt is oreo crumbs and the moss is made from a specific type of honey cake that creates a mossy texture when baked. The gemstones are also edible and are made from sugar, water, agar agar and candy flavoring. They were so much fun to make. This is an 8 inch Conventional Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. NEW FLAVOR ALERT! And its sooooooo good too! 6 inch Conventional Biscoff Cookie Butter cake, layered with a decadent Cookie Butter buttercream and decorated with Cream Cheese frosting with Maleficent in all her misunderstood beauty in her dragon form. I didn't deep dive into my "method" style of baking as usual. I watched the 2nd of the newer Maleficent movies and listened to all the Disney villain songs while decorating. Now I wish I'd made time to watch all 3 of the movies again since I enjoyed it so much!

Recipe tested my first ever Conventional Tiramisu layer cake. It was damn near perfect and I'm a self proclaimed tiramisu snob who has tried almost every Tiramisu in town. The only thing it needed was a more thorough soaking of the espresso/kahlua mix and a more stabilized Whipped Mascarpone Frosting. Tiramisu is actually my all time favorite cake flavor so I cannot wait to test this out again.

I gotta say, the record portion of this cake was a heck of alot harder than it looks, but I'm happy with the overall results. I even set up my record player in my kitchen and played eagles albums all day while decorating, including this specific album that is on this cake. I wanted the record player to look retro with the light blue hue, but the main details were based off of a specific record player made by Crosley. I thought it looks so beautiful and timeless that I just HAD to replicate it. 10 inch Conventional Lemon Blueberry cake with Cream Cheese frosting. So this was my first time piping an actual human image. I was so nervous about it that I panic piped and it shows, but I learned alot from it that I immediately implemented in the very next cake, which was actually posted just before this one. This is for my niece Lars, for her 18th birthday. She's been a big David Bowie fan as of late, especially the Labyrinth. Tried a few new things for this one that I absolutely love! 8 inch Conventional Lemon Blueberry cake layered with Blueberry buttercream made from a fresh Blueberry reduction and decorated with Cream Cheese frosting. I was asked to do a cake inspired by the the band Nekrogoblikon. I found an image from an unknown artist of the main band member John Goblikon, I replaced the face with a different image that I though would be easier to get the details of. I also drew up what I can only guess would be the style of lettering used in the Nekrogoblikon font. It might surprise you all.... I'm horrible at drawing, but this came out so great! Happy Birthday Christina!!! If anyone comes across the original artist, be sure to tag them, they deserve credit too!

8 inch Vegan Strawberry cake, layered with Strawberry frosting and decorated in Vanilla frosting. Apparently Bob Weir, after an interview by David Letterman, said "that was more fun than a frog in a milk glass". I'm not entirely sure what that means, it seems rather ridiculous and weir-d, so I guess it's fitting to put it on a cake. Keep it weird y'all!

6" Vegan Strawberry Cake layered with Strawberry frosting and decorated with Vanilla frosting. I was given full creative freedom for this Pokémon cake and I was soooooooo tempted to do a hand carved 3D pokemon, I still wish I had. I had a million ideas and kept thinking "what if they don't know or like this specific pokemon?" My daughter's 4th birthday was last weekend. It had to postponed the first time around due to my entire family falling ill. I barely managed to take pictures of the rushed cake before the whirlwind of usual guests. I never even took pictures of the Vegan Chocolate Coconut cupcakes that were also available for guests, luckily someone else did. My daughter asked for each flavor and designed her cake 6 months ago and reminded me daily that she wanted her Gabbys Dollhouse cake. The top tier was a 6 layer Gluten Free Lemon Blueberry cake layered with Blueberry buttercream and decorated with Cream Cheese frosting. The bottom tier was a Conventional Almond White cake with a Strawberry Earl Grey jam and Vanilla buttercream, then decorated with rainbow sprinkles. I had planned to do the ears out of cake but I was running low on time and with the help of my sister, I made the ears using edible markers, though that was the only thing edible about it since I'd used paper and glue. This was a rushed job since I had just gotten of a plane for my first vacation in years, but I'm still happy with how it all turned out. I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately, I'm really horrible at the social media side of business. I love decorating, I wish there was someone else that loved the filming and social media side so I can just focus on the art.

Let's have a visual lesson in why bakers don't use dark or nonstick pans. These are both the same size pan, both weighed before filling with batter and after so they have the exact same amount of batter in them, baked at the same time, on the same rack. The one baked in the darker pan has a darker thicker crust and almost looks burnt even though it was pulled the very second it said it was ready. The one baked in the lighter pan is nice and soft, perfectly moist, lightly colored and even took a few minutes more than the darker pan.

I was tasked with designing a cake for my friends birthday party which was medieval fantasy themed and asked to somehow include dicks, because why not? This is a dragon egg surprise cake that when cut into tiny rainbow dick candies fell out. The chocolate swords were planned, but I had extra chocolate leftover so I made chocolate babies so that she could consume children on her birthday, also because why not 🤣 this was a 6" and 8" Conventional Lemon Blueberry cake with Cream Cheese frosting.

I GOT TO DO A STUDIO GHIBLI CAKE AND IM LEGIT FANGIRLING. I worked so hard on this one that by the time I added the last details, the clouds and the green bucket rim, my exhaustion showed. I stared at that shaky green rim and want to hate the whole thing because I let the bucket rim be shaky, but dangit, this cake is too cool to hate one detail.....and it's ALL BUTTERCREAM. I shared it on tik tok and immediately someone commented on how hard it is to work with fondant and was floored that it's not even fondant. Anyways, fangirl moment over. This is an 8 inch, Conventional Funfetti Cake and Vanilla Buttercream. I searched long and hard for sprinkles whose ingredients I was willing to feed to my clients and let me tell yall, that's a hard task, but I found some and they held up perfectly and still had a bit of a crunchy texture after baking into the cake. I've never been a fan of sprinkles but, I'm willing to eat my words cause this cake was delicious! Don't forget, today is the last day to enter to win a free custom cake.
