Good evening friends,
Just found out today that every time a new person follows my baking page, Meta AI sends an automated note in Messenger that asks, What can I help you with? - or something similar. For now, there is no way to turn off this notification.

So please pardon those messages and hope they are not annoying. Just hoping that enough people raise the issue to Meta so they will make it an optional feature.

Recently I had the blessing to make some sweet treats for a wedding party, for my friends Charles and Patti's son Nathan and his fiance Kari. To help them celebrate, I made Oreo Truffles and "hand painted" Vanilla Almond sugar cookies and then packaged with specialty initials stickers. I heard the wedding was beautiful and weather in Colorado cooperated! God put his smile on that day for sure 🥰

Recently a friend of mine from church, Tabitha, asked for some Caramel Cupcakes for her boss's birthday. These are made with homemade caramel sauce which is in the batter and the cream cheese frosting, and then drizzled on top.

This past weekend the Hazel Green High School Class of '76 celebrated it's 50th class reunion.

I always thought the Class of '76 had a neat historical feel to it. That was the year the United States celebrated its Bicentennial. Now for the 50th reunion, we just celebrated America 250!

My long-time sweet friend Charlotte asked me to make the cake for their celebration. It was a vanilla-almond sponge with vanilla-almond buttercream frosting. (Vanilla-almond is often considered the "wedding cake" flavor, but it's not just for weddings - it's great anytime!)

The logo on the top of the cake is the front cover of the '76 Hazel Green yearbook and I had it printed as an edible image.

This lemon cake was for a very special friend, Rusty, for his birthday which is today! Rusty and my parents attend the same church. I delivered this cake to Rusty this past weekend - he specially requests it because it is similar to what his grandmother used to make. The cake is lemon sponge made with lemon juice and zest, lemon buttercream frosting, filled with lemon curd in between the layers, and then topped with candied lemon slices and candied lemon zest. Rusty, we hope you have a Blessed birthday today.

That's why I offer flavor tastings for a nominal fee. Basically we talk and I get your top 3 flavor combinations and we do a tasting.

Wedding cakes are so special to make - creating that custom dessert from a cake tasting session with the happy couple. I recently had the blessing of making a wedding cake for Alexis and Nick. They asked for a 3-tier Vanilla Cake with Vanilla buttercream frosting, and Salted Caramel Buttercream filling with homemade caramel sauce. The cake was decorated with fresh flowers of white roses, pink carnations, and baby's breath. The bride's mother Andrea was the wedding planner and did an incredible job of planning the entire event, and the reception hall was beautifully decorated.

Sharing a few recent cakes for some very special folks.

Our friend Brenda requested a birthday cake for her husband Charles - a Smith Lake Cake (vanilla cinnamon cake with white w**e butter sauce), and another friend Linda requested a Chocolate cake with Vanilla Buttercream frosting for her husband David's birthday. Charles & David had a joint celebration this past Saturday at our church! And another very special friend of ours, Ms. Lynda, got to enjoy a Limoncello Cake with mascarpone and lemon curd frosting.
