Hello everyone and welcome to June!

Summer's about here and it's a good time for some refreshing flavors. This past week I made some Strawberry cupcakes filled with homemade strawberry jam and topped with strawberry buttercream frosting. My sweet friend Jackie from church asked for those to celebrate another special friend's (Paula) birthday.

I've got a busy baking week coming up, with a baby's 1st birthday and a wedding. Pictures to follow soon!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the High School graduates this week!

Sharing some baking from last week - it was a busy one!

My friend Camilla asked for a cake for her husband David's birthday - a Vanilla Almond cake with vanilla almond buttercream and blue star accents.

A new friend Dianna asked for a special cake and cookies for her mother's 90th birthday - a Vanilla Almond cake with vanilla almond buttercream and decorated with pink roses and flowers. The cookies were vanilla almond in flower shapes and some with 90 and painted with gold accents.

Another new friend Lydia asked for some special desserts for her soon-to-be daugher in law's wedding shower - some Lemon Petit Fours and Raspberry Thumbprint cookies. The petit fours were two layers, with lemon buttercream and lemon curd sandwiched in between. Such fun to make!

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the Mom's out there!

Special thanks to my sweet friend Angie for asking me to make her milestone birthday cake. It was a star-shaped vanilla sponge with pink vanilla buttercream frosting accented with pink luster dust.

Hello everyone and hope your week is having a good start,

Sharing a cake from last week - my sweet friend Lana asked for a birthday cake for her husband Keith. He asked for Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting with red velvet cake crumbles on the sides - his favorite! It is a little challenging to write with frosting directly onto a cake, but it turned out well!

Hello everyone,

Sharing some cakes from last week. First, my cousin Ginger asked for a cake and cookies for a baby shower she was helping to host. The cake was Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream and pink buttercream flowers all over the top and sides. The cookies were Vanilla with royal icing in flower shapes and some with the baby name - Rose. Such a sweet name! Then my friend Mandy asked for a birthday cake for her daughter - it was Vanilla cake with Vanilla buttercream and decorated with abstract shapes in dark blue, with yellow swirls and buttercream flowers. Last, my friend Diana asked for a special birthday cake for her daughter - it was Vanilla Almond with Vanilla Almond buttercream and several buttercream flowers.

As a note--- the frosting I typically make is very smooth and creamy version of American Buttercream which I can adjust the sweetness level as requested.

Hello everyone,

Welcome to April! Hoping you and your family had a wonderful Easter weekend. Our church had a full morning that included a sunrise service and two regular services, with a great Easter music program and inspiring message from our pastor.

There was lots of baking going on for several folks who wanted special cakes for their Easter dinner tables. Special thanks to my friends Theresa, Kim, Pam, Angie, and Karen for their orders. There was a Coconut Cake covered in 7-minute frosting and coconut, with toasted coconut on top; a Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting; a Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting, green frosting "grass" around the top edges, milk chocolate eggs, and candy Easter crosses on the sides; a Strawberry Cake with strawberry buttercream and a candy Easter cross on top; and a Hummingbird Cake (made with bananas, pineapple, and pecans) with cream cheese frosting.

Hello everyone,

Sharing a cake I made for a special young lady last week. My friend Lee Ann asked for a heart-shaped cake for her daughter's 25th birthday. The cake was Vanilla Almond with Strawberry buttercream filling and covered with hand made buttercream flowers. I hope Leah had a great celebration - such a sweet and kind young lady!
