Let me start by saying, when it comes to organization and your precious momentos… you need to have the correct systems in place.

Because of this, when I go into people's spaces to create a more organized place, I like to keep everything up high, labeled and in clear boxes. This makes it easy to grab in case of emergency, but also sealed and away from any potential water damage.

The clear, labeled bins make it so that everyone in the family can know the importance of these boxes in case of a natural disaster. After I come in and organize things like your passports, social security cards, oldest family photos, the first family portrait and so much more it’s crucial that the whole family is in agreement on a natural disaster plan.

I am asked this a lot, especially when it comes to summer cleanups.

Let’s face it our kids would rather be doing ANYTHING else than helping us go through items, discarding or donating them.

But, sometimes we need help! And sometimes it's their own stuff. So, how do we get them involved without it being a fight?

Turn on some music and dance around! Make it an activity instead of a chore and see where it goes.

What’s the saying...too many hands in the kitchen?

The same can be said for the pantry.

I mean no one enjoys a rummaged through messy eating area - whether that be the kitchen or pantry. By providing a designated snack area for your children you can monitor their daily intake as well as keep the space organized.

Sounds like a win-win to me right?
