Every day is Teacher Appreciation Day around these parts! I can recall the names of every teacher who has made a lasting impact on my life. Teachers do much more than transfer book knowledge to their students; they care. And having someone who cares can make all the difference in a person’s life.

This week I celebrated one of my son’s favorite teachers. He came to her class after the school year had already started and she welcomed him with open arms. I remember meeting her on his first day and whispering to her that we were going through a tough life change. She immediately took him under her wing, giving him the extra emotional support he needed and making sure he didn’t fall behind in class. I will always be grateful for the continuity of care she offered him and the peace of mind I had knowing he was safe. He is now acclimated and thriving!

We are all teaching, in some way or another. But those who choose to be professional teachers have a special gift that is worth celebrating every chance we get. Take some time today and reflect on those who have been a positive influence in your life and CELEBRATE A TEACHER TODAY! 🍎
