As of late I have not been active on the Breadbasket Bakery page for multiple reasons. You all should probably follow the Instagram page for the bakery . It's called pastries and puppies. More updates and cuter puppies.

Randy Kehler died last night. You may not know who he is but your life and the lives of millions is different today because he lived.
Randy to the end was a peace activist and social justice warrior.
In 1969,speaking at a peace conference, Randy touched and inspired many who attended.
One of those he touched and inspired was a young, brilliant data analyst working for the pentagon. This young man was so inspired by Randy's passion that he began to rethink his own culpability in the escalating war in Vietnam.
After hearing Randy speak, this young man knew that he had to do something to help end the madness.
This young man's name is Daniel Elsberg.
He was solely responsible for the leak of the Pentagon Papers.
If you don't know what that means, you should look it up.
Randy did many amazing things in his life. Loving husband and partner in crime to always stoic Betsy. Housemate for years to my big sister Kip ,all the way to her passing.
He was a family friend and a good man and the world could use more of him,not less
If you believe that one person with passion can't make a difference, Randy would tell you, that is the only thing that ever has.
RIP Randy. Love you and Betsy and I will always remember you and your visit to the bakery.

Gotta say, if you are not following the Breadbasket on Instagram , you really should. It's the dogs that come in for their treats and the food we make, but mostly the dogs.

The Breadbasket Bakery and Cafe is now taking orders for the Christmas bread. Dried Cherries and Chocolate chips in a Multigrain Sourdough. Available one day only. Christmas eve pick-up is required. If you know, you know. Stop by and place your order.

The Breadbasket will be open Thanksgiving morning till noon. Special breads for your holiday table include, Potato sage sourdough and Cranberry walnut, as well as all of the usual assortment. Coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries will be served till close
