Hey Everyone!!

I was hoping to be back open by April 1st, but I am going to need a little bit more time. I just got my cast off last week and now I need to learn how to walk again with my right foot. This has been more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I want to make sure I give myself enough time so I am going to stay closed until May 1st.

Today we celebrated my husband’s birthday!
Typically I would be posting the cake I made him, but since I can’t bake right now I decided to share all the cakes I have baked for him since we moved to Michigan.
When we moved here he bought me my first Kitchen Aid mixer and ever since I’ve been making his and my son’s cakes every year expect for when I had baby cookie and this year.

❤️1st year was a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream decorated with sugar monsters thanks to my son
💙2nd year was a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache(that broke😞)
💚3rd and 4th year were triple chocolate(the family favorite) chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream and Ganache on top
🤎5th and 6th cake were a Ding D**g cake chocolate cake with a vanilla cream filling and covered in ganache

Did you know that you can freeze sugar cookies and they will still taste just as good?!?

I wanted to make sure my littlest would have cookies for his birthday, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to bake by the time his birthday came around. The week before my surgery I baked, decorated and bagged his cookies. I carefully stacked them in my freezer safe storage container and tucked them into the freezer. The day before his birthday my husband took the container out of the freezer. After being in the freezer for 1 month, they taste just a yummy as if I baked them that week.

I always try to keep a couple basic shaped, non decorated cookies in my freezer just in case I get a last minute order.
