Hi, Buddy Nation!

It’s me, Tara. I’m affectionately known as the mom of Buddy’s and it’s been one of the greatest titles to have. You’ve probably seen me early in the morning or on the weekends. If I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting you at the bakery, this one’s for you!

While this has been Adam’s baby, it has been impossible not to fall in love with it — the atmosphere, the food, the customer service; it’s everything you could ask for when you think of good food.

These past 5 years have filled my heart to see anyone enjoying or sharing an experience they had at Buddy’s. To see the community come together for each other has been amazing to experience + witness. It has made me so proud to have played a little piece in the community we have called home for the past 5 years.

This time is very bittersweet. I will miss the fresh smell of bagels and baked goods in the morning, the regulars that come in to start their morning with our bagels, donuts and coffees ❤️, the orders you never forget, the jokes you crack and the endless laughter and good company we’ve shared. The customers have made every very early morning, late night, weekend festival worth it.

I’ve never been a huge center of attention sort of person, but have always been so proud of Its successes and didnt want to leave you all hanging. 🙃

Tomorrow, Sunday March 2nd will will be my last weekend at Buddy’s as I have previous work commitments that require me to be there. I would LOVE if you came out to eat some food, drink some coffees and say goodbye! I’ll miss you all tremendously, and hope you don’t stay a stranger!

Dear Hudson/Buddy Nation,

After 5 amazing years, it’s with a heavy heart that we announce Buddy’s Bakery will be closing. Rising costs and staffing challenges have made it difficult to continue, and after trying to sell the business with no solid offers, we’ve made the tough decision to close our doors.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, from daily conversations to the smiles and laughs we’ve shared. Special thanks to my amazing girlfriend Tara, our family, and our incredible staff for their unwavering support. I’ll always be grateful for the relationships we’ve built and the chance to support local programs like the high school boosters, dance, choir, and sports teams.

Please join us as we celebrate until March 8th. Thank you, Hudson, from the bottom of our hearts. We’ll always be proud to have been a part of this community.

Dear Hudson/Buddy Nation,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Buddy’s Bakery will be closing its doors after 5 incredible years of serving this amazing community. From the start, we’ve been proud to be a part of Hudson, and we’re so grateful for all the support, smiles, conversations, laughter, and yes, even the silly jokes you’ve shared with us. It’s been an incredible ride, but the rising costs of food and the ongoing challenges of staffing have made it increasingly difficult for us to continue.

We’ve had Buddy’s for sale for a while now, but without any solid offers, we’ve made the tough decision to close. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for making Buddy’s a part of your lives. I’ll truly miss the daily conversations, the familiar faces, and the connections I’ve made—whether it was with a stranger walking in or with our awesome neighbors at UPS and throughout the block.

A special thank you to my incredible girlfriend, Tara, for her unwavering support through countless late nights, early mornings, and everything in between. The phone calls during dinner, on vacations, and the many sacrifices she made to keep Buddy’s going mean the world to me. To my parents and our kids—thank you for supporting me through this wild adventure. Your love and encouragement have meant everything. And to Ethan and all his friends who helped out after school and on weekends—your hard work made a difference.

I also want to express my deep appreciation for the many amazing employees who helped make Buddy’s a warm and welcoming place. From Kristine, who could memorize your orders in an instant, Silas who greeted with a smile and good conversation and to Melissa, who crafted unique and delicious bakery creations, you made every day special for our customers.

We are so proud of how we were able to support local programs, including the high school boosters, dance, choir, and sports teams. The relationships we’ve built with all of you are invaluable, and I truly hope that someday we’ll have the chance to be a part of this community again.

Please join us as we celebrate each day until March 8th—let’s make these last days together memorable.
