FRI YAY hits different when I’m not juggling multiple deadlines, appointments, events, and people.

I’m grateful for the ability to rest these last few weeks before tackling my inbox on Tuesday the 1st.

Even when I return, I won’t hit the ground running like in seasons past. And that’s okay. I’m slowly adjusting to the idea of taking more meaningful work, even though it means less on my books. 🫶🏼

LIFE UPDATE!

This school year hits me different for a multitude of reasons, and it’s leaving me floating around without a clear path.

For the first time in S I X years, ALL three of my babies are driving away every morning. It’s a feeling that I can’t quite articulate, and I’m existing in this weird space that is vast, but uncertain.

I’ve spent more than a decade creating special moments for your kids and families. I have more gratitude than I can express for these opportunities to share your life’s best memories. It’s been a serious honor that I don’t take lightly at all.

However, the feeling to be present and more involved for my own kids + family is stronger than ever. Even more now that my first babies are seniors.

So many decisions have overwhelmed me in recent months, because they need to be made and hinge upon other resolutions. If you know me, it’s a huge struggle because I can’t do X if A, B, and C aren’t in prepared and in line.

While I take some time to review the future, I’m going to be on hiatus until October’s limited Ring Day projects. I’ll be pickier than ever when it comes to choosing where I devote my time and creativity, which means my policies and boundaries will be strongly enforced.

Tali’s recent graduation with her Master’s meant her cake had to be equally fabulous! To bring in elements from the invitation, we went with this maroon floral print base and accented with classic graduation decor.

Her mom planned the cutest topper, I can’t wait to see the cake with it dressed up!

Fun fact: I usually source my toppers locally and have them custom made for your cake! Advance notice is a must, but the possibilities are pretty endless 🫶🏼

Kinda chic to…

Give creative freedom to your cake/cookie artist.

This set was probably more elaborate than I typically sell, partly because it is my best friend, partly because I did whatever I wanted. Yes, that included twelve designs in a collection, printing new cutters, and new stencils. But when I’m free to work I pull out all the stops 🫶🏼

Inspiration is great, but interpretation can be incredibly beautiful.

When you come to me, you’re shouldn’t be coming to get a copy of another design.

If I’m making cookies, they have to be enjoyable.

My body cannot take it. The shoulder/forearm stress of dough, soreness from shoulder to fingers from color mixing, wrist/hand stress from piping, lower back + shoulder blade/neck pain from 8+ hour decorating days.

I love cookies, they do not love me back.
