Hanszen College Hanszen College was the third residential college at Rice University and the first to adopt a crest.

The third-oldest residential college and one of the four original colleges at Rice University, Hanszen has a storied history. From producing the first crest on campus to Coffeehouse and KTRU, and even being the first to go coed (along with Baker), Hanszen has always been about, as our first Master Bill Masterson said, "novelty and tradition."
