“For me, good quality food is an experience that you won't ever forget. As a native Houstonian and graduate from the University of Houston, I love the city of Houston and started this bakery to provide the community with delicious, healthy, and fresh baked goods. I started baking in college for student organizations, friends, and family. Baking has been and will always be my happy place, and I think most people can relate to that whether they bake or like to eat baked goods. I believe in the three tiers of sustainability; environmental, social equality, and economic development. All three are a huge part of who I am and my brand Grub It Up, LLC. When I got diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome in 2012 I started learning more about plant-based and veganism. I started slowly but surely incorporating more plant-based meals into my diet and almost a decade later I've seen results. Yet, I am still learning and want to help others learn as well. I started this business to help people with underlying conditions, help people not get underlying conditions, vegans, vegan-curious, and for people who love and enjoy eating baked goods. I believe you should enjoy great sweets without all the guilt that you might feel bloated, add to the carbon footprint or eat things that aren't naturally made. Every item on the menu is plant-based, so there are no animal products, just the good stuff! My goal is for everyone in this country to eventually try one of my vegan baked goods. My concept is that with every bite a person takes of my baked goods they are not only helping themselves but the planet and those that live on it”.
