Everything I baked - the milk bread collection

Everyone's favorite for a reason! This season's milk bread flavors were honestly hard to beat. I'm not much of a sweet bread girlie, so the milk bread is never top of my list, but a lot of this summer's flavors were up there for me.

As delicious as our summer sourdough flavors were, I can't help but think they were a bit uninspired. They didn't quite hit the creative part of my brain as much as I like.

Thank you for trusting me to put bread on your table this season. I can't wait to show you what I have in the works for next month. I know it doesn't feel like fall yet, but I am a corporate girlie after all, so I work in quarters.

Ian and I are taking the next two weekends off to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to visit with some friends, but we'll be back before you know it and with all new exciting flavors!

We are BACK at this Saturday!

Our ovens are still out of commission but thanks to the baking hasn't stopped. We are so incredibly thankful to them for sharing their space, and to all of you for sticking with us through the chaos this month!

As a reminder, preorders are still open! There's pizza crust, starter, and merch left on the pre-order menu. If what you want is sold out, come see us at the market Saturday morning!

This week was supposed to be monthly break from the bakery, but my oven has had me on an enforced break for the past week now. One thing for sure is that I have absolutely needed this break and I am grateful for it.

Even though I haven't been able to do any baking, I do have some things in the work for Bread Crumb and I can't wait to share more with you very soon! Talk to you again soon :)

If you ask me what I'm most excited for you to try this month is this Indonesian Curry Sourdough Focaccia. The seasoning atop the bread is inspired by rendang, a complex and labor intensive dish from the Minangkabau tribe in West Sumatra, Indonesia, that is ALMOST recognized in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Fun fact: when I was growing up in Indonesia, I was actually told I had a very western palate - I preferred KFC over traditional dishes my grandmother prepared. But, as I moved away from family and as I try to reclaim my Indonesian identity, I have pushed myself to learn to cook traditional Indonesian dishes and the beef rendang was one of those dishes I ended up loving and have prepared myself numerous times.

And, so I hope that you give this loaf a try and fall in love with it the same way I did not too long ago.
