With the holidays being upon us there are many who find that they are joyous and overwhelmed all at the same time. Finding balance can seem an unattainable feat and this feeling is magnified when we are under stress. Before you know it all of the memory making moments are behind you and you feel as if you missed it all. Wellness is not just about what you put in your body via your mouth. It is what you feed your soul, it is what you surround yourself with, it is the energy you allow in your body and that which you support with the life you live. You may even find the anxiety creeping in as you come to your own realizations about the fast pace of your life. But this is how life is......isn't it? ......Or....is it?
Often we feel that the cost of living a "healthy" lifestyle is too high, unaffordable even. We want to eat better, be thinner, sleep better, be less stressed, have less illness, be happier.....but at the same time we have no time. We work and work and we have less time and less money....how can this be? How do we get out of this rut? How do we feel better? How do we find more time?
Impossible.........maybe....maybe not. The results of change may not be clear to you now, but the results of doing nothing are crystal clear. We wait for that which may never come because change really does start with ourselves. But where do we start? For everyone, it is different as we are all on our own journey. Our lives are different, our incomes, our views, our friends, our towns, our families......all different and that is what makes our starting blocks different and unique from one another.
When you are making out your Christmas lists this year, your to-do lists and such, consider putting yourself on the list. Give yourself the gift of loving yourself.
