Hello Everyone,
We are sorry to have to give such bad news to you all. But it has recently come to our attention that we are not going to be given the option to renew our lease after December of this year. From our understanding the salon was given the option to expand for their Medical Spa. Now we want to make it very clear that we are NOT closing the business! While this news is very unfortunate, the storefront closing does not mean the business is closing! We do not have a date for a new storefront as of right now, but that will NOT affect the ability for you to place orders after December! We will still have a kitchen to work out of for all orders including our weddings and special events. We just sadly won’t have a public storefront for walk-ins anymore. We are still going to take our yearly planned “time off” in January. This time will hopefully be used to rest but to also move everything out of the bakery to vacate.
To give some information on a new storefront. Many of you may already know but for those that don’t. We for the past 3 years have been very actively working towards moving and opening a new storefront. We started the search for a new home because the issue of not being able to renew has been brought up in the past. It was right after covid, and the landlord was adamant on raising the rents to get us out due to the salon wanting our spot in 2021. The salon did not want to pay more to take our spot, so the landlord ended up renewing last minute. We used the renewal period to find a building to purchase and fix up for our new bakery. We faced many roadblocks causing us to extend our stay as it is a LONG process in every aspect and a small delay snowballed into many delays. We knew that we were lucky to stay as long as we could and on borrowed time for a while now. But we had thought that we’d have at least one more year before we’d get the boot. To give a summary of our new bakery location, in 2022 we had purchased a building in downtown Westmont for us to open our new bakery. We have undergone a very long process that included purchasing it, construction financing, underwriting, village approval, architectural plans, bidding for the project, and many other aspects. We have been juggling so many things in our lives to make this happen. We have faced hurdle after hurdle and rejection after rejection to get us to Westmont. We genuinely believed it was a simple matter of just moving everything into the new building and opening shop, but that is not the case. Although we are still actively pursuing getting there, we do not have an exact date. We are putting our original vision on the shelf for now and are hoping to be able to have something in Westmont for people to look forward to. We will share more information once we get an idea of what is required of us bureaucracy wise.

We will post all updates on Facebook and through our website/email. You can still place and inquire about orders through December, and we will be taking orders for February 2025 and onward after.
