And a special thanks to everyone who came all the way to Urbana Champaign for Hana‘s graduation because that is quite a hike from Chicago, 2 hours that too left 6 am in the morning.

As I saw you getting ready to go to your high school graduation, my heart could not help but drift between the young man standing before me and the little boy I have loved with every part of me for 18 years.

How did time move this fast?

Watching you prepare, wearing your gown with your excellence awards and prestigious cords, I felt a kind of pride that is hard to put into words. Not just because of what you have achieved, but because of who you are becoming.

To me, you will always be that little boy with dreams in his eyes, but today I also see a capable, intelligent, strong young man stepping into adulthood with so much to offer this world.

Suleimaan, may Allah always protect you, guide your steps, expand your rizq, and keep your heart close to Him. Aameen!
