Nick McCaslin, of Hawesville, won the Kentucky State Fair’s Largest Watermelon Contest with a 245.7-pounder. He was congratulated Saturday in the West Hall of the Kentucky Exposition Center by Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell and Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg.

Laha’s may call Hodgenville home, but their reputation reaches far beyond LaRue County—and even beyond Kentucky. People have traveled from near and far to grab a seat at that counter and experience a Laha’s burger for themselves.

Since 1934, generations of the Laha family have kept a true Hodgenville tradition going, serving those famous burgers from the same little spot in the heart of our community.

We couldn’t be prouder to see Laha’s receive this recognition. Congratulations to the entire Laha’s Red Castle family on an honor that is very well deserved!
