She bought a Tesla Model Y last year for $63,000. She decided she didn’t like Elon Musk anymore, so she traded it in for a Rivian. She transferred $24,000 of negative equity into a Rivian lease. Elon Musk thanks you for your money—you’ve already paid him. What does this accomplish? Not everyone has $24,000 to throw away just because Tesla isn’t trendy right now. The funny thing is, she’ll probably still be using the Tesla Supercharger network. Plus in a few months the internet will move on and forget all this drama. That’s how it always has worked.

And then last year in August, I bought a brand new Model Y 7-seater and as soon as Elon Musk did his fu***ng N*zi salute, I traded in the Model Y for a Rivian. I’m shouldering a $24,000 in negative equity, but I rolled it into a lease, got the tax credit on this new RS1, and this thing is a far superior vehicle to the Tesla, believe me. After driving Teslas for fu***ng years, like six years, I can tell you that this RS1 is a far superior vehicle and I fully, highly recommend getting a Rivian. Seriously. Ditch your Tesla. Their pieces... they’re not that great. They’re just not that great."
