Hello and welcome to BreadHouse, where I, Megan Sousa, a corporate girly living her “bread” life, brings my passion for sourdough to life. It all began because I wanted to explore more aspects of my life. Beyond my roles as a “corporate girly”, mother and wife, I yearned for a space where I could nurture my own creativity and share it with the world. Baking sourdough became a therapeutic journey, allowing me to express myself and bring happiness to those who enjoy my creations. My story is intertwined with my rich cultural heritage. As a first-generation American born to parents from the Azores, bread holds a special place in our family traditions. In our home, bread symbolized unity, comfort, and love. The memory of walking into my grandmothers kitchen, greeted by the comforting scent of freshly baked loaves, has stayed with me. These cherished moments inspired me to pay homage to my roots and recreate that warm feeling in my own kitchen. At BreadHouse, my goal is not just to sell bread but to inspire people to follow their dreams and embrace their creativity. I hope that the love and dedication I pour into every loaf of sourdough can serve as a source of inspiration for anyone seeking to embark on their own journey. There’s so much love, support, and teamwork behind this little business, and I’m grateful for all of it. For my husband who shows up alongside me, for our babies who make it all that much sweeter, and for getting to share something I love with the people I love most.
