Well folks, I'm sorry to say I over estimated how much good fruit was left in our field - we must now close the field for the season. We are sorry for the abrupt closure, but don't want folks coming out and being disappointed to find few berries worth picking. I just checked the field and found the berry clusters still hanging in the bushes are extremely soft or hollowed by bees eating them - making picking a trial, not a pleasure. The last few days of picking plus warm days cleaned out the good berries sooner than expected. We had the most amazing season this year and appreciate all who came and enjoyed our berries and field. Thank you - until next year!

Looking for blueberries? We still have them and our grassy field with tall bushes make it very pleasant to pick. Many bushes are still full of the BlueCrop variety which has a large berry and a yummy, rich, late-season sweetness. The Berkley variety are less plentiful, but still easy to find. These have a milder sweetness and the fruit is a bit softer this late in the season. You can decide which you like the most! The best berries for both varieties are found inside the bushes, out of the direct sunlight. We are open this week, but it will be our last. We will post an update on Thursday as to whether we will be open one last weekend.

The heat has given way to some refreshingly cool days and the blueberries are still in abundance - I just picked a lovely bucket in under 15 minutes! The BlueCrop variety have the largest berry with a delicious spark in their sweetness, and many of these bushes are hanging full. The Berkley blueberries have a rich, honey-smooth sweetness, and are easily found but it takes just a little more looking to find the bushes full of them. The best berries are hiding inside the bushes among the leaves, away from the direct sun. With the quantity of berries remaining on the bushes we will be open the rest of this week and the week of July 26.

I was just out picking and found that there is no shortage of sweet, ripe Bluecrop and Berkley blueberries hanging in the bushes, waiting to be picked - it is an amazing season for our blueberries! We will have another week of picking, but not sure if we will make it the two weeks that would take us to the end of July so come see us soon.

Good morning! We are extending our open hours back to the usual times now that the weather has cooled down. Our field has grass between the rows, so the rain this morning did not make things muddy. These cooler days will make it much nicer to come get our Bluecrop and Berkley blueberries, still hanging in abundance in our tall bushes for easy picking! Now's the time to get them - if the hot weather comes back next week as forecasted, the heat will hurry our season to its end.

Our updated hours for the rest of the week are:

We still have bushes full of Bluecrop and Berkley blueberries, ripe and ready for picking! Below you can see a few pictures taken this evening of the Bluecrop bushes and bucket of berries I picked today. While there are a few bushes that have been well picked, just turn around or move a little to find the bushes that are still heavy with fruit, and look inside the bushes to find some of the largest berries. Picking in the morning while the berries are cool is best. The hot weather forecasted for the upcoming weeks is going to ripen the little remaining green berries quickly, so don't wait - we likely have only 2 weeks of picking left.

You will find lots of Bluecrop and Berkely blueberries hanging in our tall bushes, both high and low, making for easy picking of these yummy large-berry varieties! The Earlieblue variety is harder to pick since much of what remains this late in its season has become soft. Come early to enjoy the cooler hours. Next week is going to get into the higher temperatures all week, so we will have shorter hours that week. We expect to have another 2 weeks of picking.

Hope you all had a relaxing 4th of July weekend! Our Bluecrop and Berkely blueberries continue to ripen and hang in abundance on the bushes making for easy picking. The Earlieblue variety has become harder to find, but if this is your favorite you can still find it deep in the field and hidden among the leaves. For quick and easy picking, head for the Bluecrop and Berkley varities, you can taste each and decide which you want, or mix it up and get both (or all three)!

All three varieties of our blueberries continue to ripen - the bushes are still hanging full and the picking is easy! The large berry Bluecrop and Berkely varieties are just entering into their prime picking with lots of sweet, ripe fruit and much more to come. If your favorite is the Earlieblue variety it is best to get them while the weather remains cool as the warming weather forecasted for next week may hurry this early variety into the overripe state causing it to drop.

We are at the mid-point of our normal six-week berry season, but lower temperatures may extend our season given the abundant crop of berries we are seeing this year!
