Folks, we are just about sold out for the day! Thank you so much for coming out strong for us today. You put me in the weeds and I’m thankful for it 😅 We even managed to get one of our signs up, and I’m so thrilled!

We’re gearing up for another busy week next week, with Labor Day weekend and Helotes Market Days. Preorders will go live tomorrow morning at Hotplate.com/spreadtheloaves, and if you head there now you can sign up for text alerts!

We’re getting to the busy season so we highly recommend preordering, coming to see us during the week, or coming to see us close to open on the weekends. We appreciate you and promise we don’t want you to go home empty handed! 🧡

Good morning, y’all! We are open and the line has died down. Flavored sourdough loaves are running low, but we’ve got lots of regular sourdough, sourdough pretzels, and pastries left! Swing on by and say hi!

Hi friends! We are open and would love to see you. Thank you so much for your kind words yesterday! We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. The best way to help us right now is by coming to see us, and sending your friends! With our decision to let our old building go, the need for a walk-in is even greater…so it’s time to get to saving up :)

Lots of delicious things available today, including the fan favorite semi sourdough milk bread. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out 🍞 It’s super soft, fluffy, and delicious just about any way you serve it.

Four years ago, Justin was informed by his gastroenterologist that he had one of the worst cases of Crohn’s he had seen. Unfortunately, that still seems to be the case. He has lost significant weight over the past two months, and every day is an extremely difficult battle to keep his body going. The treatment he has been on has failed.

Justin has been working tirelessly to get Spread The Loaves Market & Deli ready for all of you despite not being in remission any longer. However, with very heavy hearts, we are here to announce we are not going to be able to bring that vision to you just yet. It will still happen, but under the same roof as the bakery and in a more manageable way that will allow us to pause if needed.

Despite his body trying to destroy itself, Justin’s spirits remain high, and he has an excellent team of doctors working to get him healthy.

When Justin is ready, we will introduce a lunch menu here at the bakery, where you can order sandwiches and enjoy them at our countertop tables or even place catering orders. There is no timeline on this; the most important thing is Justin has the time he needs to heal his body.

We appreciate your support and excitement for the deli and hope you can channel that into the bakery! Sophie and the rest of the team will continue to bake for you day after day. While lunch items will remain paused until Justin finds a new treatment plan for this incurable disease, we will carry the same breads and pastries you have grown to love and are planning to introduce more items as our team can handle them.

Your support is always appreciated, but doubly so right now while we regroup and pivot so we can ensure the business’ longevity.

We were busy little bees during prep day today, and these are the only photos I snapped! Lots of delicious things for our last week of summer flavors, including a peach and summer berry brioche roll, s’mores cookies, and some chive & onion cream cheese for your 🥯 (which are now available Wednesday-Friday)

P.S. Ancient Grain is on the menu for Thursday and not a single person has preordered a loaf despite many of you asking for it over the last couple weeks.
