Rustic Apple and Cranberry Tartlets today at the Maker’s Market on Thompson's Point.

A sourdough flavored rough puff pastry filled with an apple and cranberry filling and finished with turbinado sugar.

The only thing I did wrong is that I didn’t make enough!

Julie from Maple Sugar ME came by today to give me a sample of her maple sugar.

Maple Sugar Maine is a family owned small business located in New Gloucester, Maine. They produce the finest small batch sugar made from certified organic Maine maple syrup.

I’m thinking of carrying some in the shop. What do you think?

What an absolute pleasure it was to meet Kelly Hinkle, The Downeast Cowboy, this morning!

I learned so much about all the things he has going on. Lobster fisherman, wild seaweed grower, blueberry farmer, author, AND Maine sea salt maker. Does this man ever sit down? I needed a nap just thinking about how busy he is! 😂

My favorite part was seeing his face light up as he talked about visiting rural Maine schools to read his children’s books to the kids. You can hear the passion in his voice, and I love meeting people who are so invested in what they do and in their communities.

I’m excited to share that you can now find Eastern Edge Sea Salt at Ruby on the Hill! It’s always fun to bring another Maine maker into the mix, especially one with such a great story behind his products.

My first grape harvest!

I read that you shouldn’t pick grapes until after the first frost. Well, mine have been through a few frosts by now, so I figured it was time to give them a try.

I am actually set up and ready to rumble AN HOUR EARLY for the Maker’s Market at Thompson's Point.

Portland, here I come! ❤️

I have just FOUR more events on my calendar for the year, and every single one is indoors at the same location. No more wrestling tents, watching the weather, or wondering if Maine is going to Maine.

I’m super excited because this will be my first time bringing Ruby on the Hill to Portland! I can’t wait to meet new people and introduce a few more folks to my sourdough and treats.
