I just got these adorable 13 Days of Halloween cookie boxes and they are super cute. I will be taking orders for these through Friday the 13th of October and they will be available for pick up on October 18th to start your 13 days of Halloween. The cookies in the box may vary as this is not a photo of my cookies, but I know you will love them. The cost will be $40.00 per box. Order yours before run out. They always do

Making caramel chocolate pretzels in Virginia in September when it's 97° outside wasn't the best idea I ever had, but they sure yummy. I just hope they make it to CT with my customer without melting all over.

Me: Yep, just finished making 10 more pounds of royal icing and this is what it looks like.

Friend: Holy s* #@ that's a lot of icing.

Before and after. I really hope my customer takes photos of these with her holding them. When she picked them up she matched them perfectly and was absolutely beautiful. She is celebrating her 27th birthday and it is 70's themed. Her dress was a vintage dress from Sears and had an adorable yellow Kate Spade VW Beetle purse. She looked amazing and was so thrilled with the cookies. Now that makes me happy.

This just made me happy. I have a customer celebrating her 27th birthday and she wanted some retro 70's cookies. Heck yeah! The colors alone took me right back to my bedroom when I was 9.

I couldn't possibly let today go by with out recognizing that it's NATIONAL SUGAR COOKIE DAY.

Fun facts:

-Sugar cookies were pioneered by the German Protestants that settled in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and created the predecessor to our modern round, buttery, sugary goodness that we know and love. These bakers were so influential in sugar cookie history that they were originally called Nazareth Cookies.

-Nazareth Cookies isn’t the only other name sugar cookies have had! Gemmels, crybabies, gimblettes, cimbellines, jumbles, and plunkets… Oh my!

Today is the perfect day for a sugar cookie and I know just where you can get some.

I often get asked if I make gluten free sugar cookies and I don't. I think many people avoid them because gluten free baked goods tend to be dry and crumbly. Today I went to the Haymarket Farmer's Market and found Honey and Ivy gluten free baked goods. Their gluten free sugar cookies were amazing. If you need gluten free baked goods, I highly recommend Honey and Ivy.
