As you can probably guess, money doesn't go very far nowadays and I have not been able to find anything else that will help us pay our bills. So, I am back taking custom orders and hope to have stuff back in 2 or 3 stores by the end of next week. During the time I can't make cakes, I will still be able to offer cupcakes and will have grab-n-go treats at the Pointers Shell Station at Glenns Crossing/Saluda and the Shell Station at the Point (coupons are not valid at the grab-n-go locations).

We Just Had to Share with you!

With my impending shoulder surgery, I would like to update you with the changes, additions, and store locations.

1. Since I will be unable to create cakes for a while, I have set a tentative date of May 1st to restart making cakes. After asking some questions last week, there is a good chance I may be returning closer to March or April 1st.
2. I have made arrangements with the Shell Gas Station at the Point and the Pointers Shell Gas Station at Glenns Crossing (Saluda) to continue selling our products. My plan is to restock those on Tuesday, October 21st. Busy Nothings Coffee Shop will still be providing our Muffins in their store front starting again in November.
3. There will be an online store opening up before the end of 2025 with already made items to purchase, but starting November 15th I will be taking custom orders for handmade cake decorations/figurines/toppers. These can be made of fondant/modeling chocolate for edible decorations or polymer clay for keepsakes.
4. NEW: We will now be taking "reservations" for future dates. If you have a date that you know you will need a cake for within the next year, let me know and you can put a hold on your date with a $100 retainer (this will be used towards the future order, these orders will have a $200 minimum requirement and all details must be settled by 30 days prior to pick-up/delivery).

If you know you need a cake after May 1, 2026 and would like to hold your spot, just let me know.

Shoulder Surgery is set for October 22nd
May 1st, 2026 I will reopen the bakery, but very limited in an attempt to avoid/put off a 4th shoulder surgery (replacement). If you have ordered from me in the past, I would love to continue to work with you, so please reach out. New customers will have an order requirement of $500 minimum.
In addition to the custom cakes, I will now be offering custom cake toppers (polymer clay or fondant) and decorations that can be purchased without the purchase of a cake. These will be available starting January 1st, 2026 in addition to an online store offering a variety of pre-made items. In addition to the custom toppers/decorations, the store will have figurines, cake toppers, cake decorations, jewelry, cups, and more!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! It's been a great 11 years of making awesome cakes and baked goods! But with a lot of great things, they must come to an end. At the end of 2018 I had my first shoulder surgery and my second at the beginning of 2022, I was told that it would fix the issue and should no longer have issues with laberal tears. Unfortunately, it looks like I may have another laberal tear along with one or more other issues and will probably going in for shoulder surgery number 3 in 7 years and I will also be going in to get back surgery to decompress my spine from degenerative disc disease which I have been battling for about 20 years. So, with all this said, I will be completing my last cake order on October 19th and will no longer be making edible cakes or baked goods. My daughter and I will continue running Wonderfully Mad Arts, but with a new focus of customized gift baskets, customized snow globe tumblers and other cups, faux cakes (possibly), fondant decorations, other forms of 3d art and more as we explore all the different art forms we find interest in. Thank you for 11 wonderful years and I hope that some of our new products will be of interest to you, your friends & family!

It's been pretty busy here at Wonderfully Mad Arts this year. Illness to great grandma passing, setting up for back surgery to figuring out what's going on with my shoulder again. I have made some changes to the grab and go items available at different locations. Instead of cupcakes, we are doing cake cups (layers of cake, filling, and icing). Cake pops will look different. These changes are meant to reduce some repetitive motions for my shoulder and arm. Now I am down for the count with a cold virus, so gran-n-go cookies and brownies are good, but the cake cups are out of date. We will be working to restock this weekend. I'm sorry for any inconvenience, as this was definitely not in the plans, and I feel horrible.
