The Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce and the Hawthorne Environmental Commission/Green Team would like to take this opportunity to thank the 35 participating businesses and community locations that welcomed the Hawthorne families to search for the Hawthorne Bee from July 1 to August 2, 2026. The Hawthorne Bee was created in 2016 to represent Hawthorneās commitment to getting the buzz around town to promote shopping locally and the importance of protecting the Beeās environment.
Our participating locations this year were: Alban Balkan Market, AQUA Riserva, B. Witching Bath Co., Bagel Express, Billyās Midway Arcade, Bogieās Hoagies, Carlosā Bagel Shop, Colour & Whim Studio, CR Bakery & CafĆ©, Deeās Luncheonette, El Gallo, Fat Moeās, Hair Hub Salon, Hawthorne Farmersā Market, Il Dolce Italian Pastry Shop, J-B Pet Supplies, Louis Bay 2nd Library & Community Center, Mama Tās Pizzeria, Maria Party Planner, Melconās Pharmacy, Mr. Cupcakes, Olssonās Pharmacy, Puzoās Family Restaurant, Rispoli Pastry Shop, Salon TG, Simmiās Table, Stewartās Delicatessen, Tastee Pizza, Thai Cookery, The Chocolate Box, The Dawg House, The Lab Barbershop, The Other Tales-Escape Rooms, Villa Rosa Restaurant and Yellaās.
The Grand Celebration and Prize Drawing was held at the Hawthorne Farmersā Market on Sunday, August 2, 2026. We had over 45 players who found the Hawthorne Bee at a minimum of 26 out of 35 locations and turned in their completed passports. (Special thanks to several players who went beyond 26 locations!) Due to the generosity of our participating locations, all of the players won prizes. There were four (4) Grand Prize Winners: Kayla Brady, Chelsea Mattina, Ryan Tomasello and Grace Edholm.
Even if purchases werenāt made at every location while hunting for the Bee, we hope the families return soon to Shop Local, Dine Local and Buy Local. The Hawthorne Bee promotion builds community spirit. It reminds residents that these are the businesses that donate to every fundraiser in town, support the PTOās, employ many of our residents and give our teenagers their first jobs, while providing needed services in our hometown.
We hope to see everyone at the Green Fair on September 13th and the Fishing Derby on September 19th.
Sincerely,
Meg Natale, Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce, Executive Secretary and Hawthorne Farmersā Market Manager
Rayna Laiosa, Chairperson, Hawthorne Green Team
Thank you for playing and supporting our local Hawthorne businesses!
