๐Ÿ‚โœจ Do-It Day Meets Goodwin Park! โœจ๐Ÿ‚

As the first hints of fall settle in, weโ€™re sending a huge THANK YOU to the amazing students from Trinity College who helped us kick off the season with purpose and pride!

As part of this yearโ€™s Do-It Day, Trinity volunteers weeded and mulched around the Pond House and along our woodland trails. This is what stewardship looks like. ๐ŸŒณโœจ๐Ÿ’ช

From all of us here, thank you for showing up, giving back, and making a difference. Have a great semester๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿค“

Special thanks to Heidi, John, and Holly from Friends of Goodwin Park for updating the FOGP message board for the fall.

Spring is here, and so are we!

This beautiful cherry tree at the Hubbard Road entrance is putting on a show, just in time to welcome everyone back to the park for the season.

Weโ€™re excited to resume our monthly Friends of Goodwin Park meetings, starting Monday, April 21 at 6:30 PM at the Pond House. This first meeting will be especially important as we begin planning for our new labyrinth project coming this fall.

And donโ€™t forget, our first park cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Meet us at the Pond House and lend a hand!

We had a great work event at our park today. Three volunteers from Trinity College who choose to work on projects that support green spaces, pollinators and wildflowers, helped us pull trash from a woodland trail. We also cleared the trail of leaves and edged it with branches and logs collected along the trail. Thanks to Kevin, Rob and Ronnie for their hard work and commitment to our environment.

On Thursday, October 17, FOGP held our annual thank you breakfast for all of the DPW workers who helped maintain our parks over the past year. Pictured here are just a few of the dozens of DPW workers who joined us. We have been told that they look forward to the food and to socializing with our members and with their coworkers each year. Thanks to Councilwoman Rossetti for helping to make it possible this year.
