As Detroit gears up for Memorial Day weekend, known locally as one of the city's most electrifying periods for dance music, the 6th Annual Detroit Diaspora Day Party is set to ignite the scene at The Eastern, situated at 3434 Russell, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 12 pm to 10 pm. This vibrant event will showcase an exceptional lineup of music connoisseurs hailing from Detroit and beyond, offering an immersive journey into electronic beats that epitomize the city's pulsating holiday vibe and beyond.
"This event is a celebration of music as well as the profound global impact of Detroit’s rich tapestry of art and culture. We genuinely have something for everyone; from the Diaspora Marketplace, where vendors showcase and sell local and global wares, to the Buy Back the Block Panel discussion sponsored by Detroit Future City, and, of course, the music itself. The lineup of DJs will traverse sounds old, present, and new. "We are bringing Black Detroit Creatives – Expat Detroiters, Current Detroiters and Detroit Lovers together to inspire and conspire to create and collaborate and do good in the name of our great city!
