As of right now, I will only be making wedding cakes. I have had several people message me and ask about availability to make birthday and/or other special occasion cakes. Right now, I just can’t. I have some physical limitations that just make it too painful to stand hunched over a table working on intricate details that some of these cakes call for. So, while it breaks my heart to say ‘no,’ I just have to. It will only be the occasional wedding cake for the near future.

Just an explanation of why a Custom Cake costs an ‘Arm & a Leg.’ I see SO many people asking for products (cakes in particular) but they don’t want to pay what they are really worth. So here’s a break down of what actually goes into that cake you’re putting on the table at little Suzy’s next birthday party.
Baking and Prep-2 hours (Min)
Making Frosting-1 hour
Frosting 2tier Cake-1 hour (Min)
Making characters for cake-3-4 hours
Adding Details to Cake-1-2 hours
Building Box for Oversized Cake-1/2 hr
CleanUp-2 hours
12 hrs total for custom cake
Now, even at minimum wage that’s almost $90, but any baker would be foolish to only charge $90 for a 2 tier fully decorated custom cake. And this didn’t even account for supplies, electricity, etc. Go ahead and add another $25-30 for that. To fully be compensated for her level of skill, most bakers should command at least $15/hr. That would be $180 for the cake, plus $30 for supplies=$210 or... an Arm & Leg.
This doesn’t include the time I spend messaging back and forth, time on the internet researching how to do that technique to get the effect you want on the smash cake, weekend hours when you want to pick up your cake when I am in the middle of dinner with my family. So, I’d say ‘an arm & a leg’ just about covers it.

I have 2 boxes of wedding cake samples for sale today! Each box contains at least 16 pieces of various flavors including: vanilla w/strawberry cream cheese filling, chocolate w/chocolate frosting, spice cake w/cinnamon cream cheese frosting, strawberry cake w/vanilla frosting and bridal vanilla w/vanilla frosting. These are $20 each. I also have a 6” bridal vanilla cake (uncut) with bridal vanilla frosting for $20 and a 6” red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and a chocolate ganache drip (uncut) for $25. No holds, message me for pickup details!
