Sweet Willamina

Sweet Willamina I create unique desserts made from primarily local and organic ingredients. For event requests/flavo Keeping it local, keeping it clean.

Origins: My first attempt at cooking was on my kitchenette stove, with raw spaghetti, in a plastic pot, and the hottest water I could manage to get from the tap... some years later I made corn bread, from a box, but added cinnamon, and I felt brilliant. After High School: While dancing and singing with The Young Americans, I somehow was bamboozled into making a Thanksgiving Day feast for my roomma

tes and thought to myself, "huh, I could actually DO this...". Back To School: California Culinary Academy, Le Cordon Bleu Program, San Fransisco
And the honor of taking Pastry and Advanced Baking and Pastry, with James Beard Award winning French Chef, Alfred Schilling. Oh the Places I've Seen: Kitchen/Pastry Chef; Long Beach, CA; Bar Harbor, ME; Big Sky, MT; Columbus, GA; Bangor, ME

Purpose and Daily Inspiration: To provide a delicious, unique, and beautiful creation for an occasion. Toddler tested, toddler approved.

It's that time of year my friends! Our annual holiday donation/toy drive has begun! You can help reach 1000's of foster and adopted kids in Maine by clicking the post, the donation page is in the comments (or reach out to me directly)!

*** A quick reminder that there is still time left to donate some funds to help kids in foster care and the adoption process right here in your community - I know we all get busy this time of year and everyone has their hand out, but we hope you consider chipping in if you're able. Forecastle's motto is Family First, Always. I can't imagine being a child without a family, much less on Christmas. Stay tuned for other ways you can help us try to put a dent in the overwhelming number of kids who are less fortunate this holiday season. ***

Good Morning Forecastle Family, Mrs. Forecastle here (aka Mrs. Claus). It's THAT TIME OF YEAR! 🤶 Our 3rd Annual Holiday Donation and Toy Drive is underway. Last year your generous donations helped us reach over 60 children, as well as 20 families with meal assistance with an additional $1,500 that was donated to KidsPeace. I honestly still tear up every time I think of how Sam and I felt last Christmas Eve when we had everything totaled up. This year we will be working with a couple of local organizations, and to start things off, Adoptive & Foster Families of Maine & Kinship Program is striving to meet over 1000 requests from the families they serve. AFFM's mission is to provide the training, guidance, knowledge and resources needed to handle complex issues encountered by resource families as they open their hearts and homes to children in need. Services are at no cost to families served. AFFM is still about 15K away from their goal and every last little bit helps. We have put together a donation page through the Forecastle paypal business account (linked below in comments), as always, if you prefer to donate by check or cash please feel free to snail mail to the shop at 60 May St, Bangor ME, 04401 OR reach out to Sam or myself and I would be happy to stop by or let you know when we will be at the shop to accept donations. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us to reach so many Maine families. A very Merry Christmas, and Happiest of Holidays to you all.

Friends, yesterday I had the overwhelming honor of creating the 90th birthday cake for Gerald Talbot. His family graciously allowed me some time to get to know him and to hear about his experience growing up in Maine, which led to his passion for education and advocacy. He truly has an amazing legacy. Please join us in celebrating his countless contributions to our community at the park dedication tomorrow at noon on Second Street. I went with comfort food for my last meal delivery to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter. Such a dreary day. Roasted chicken dinner with all the fixings, corn muffins and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The meals are covered through the kitchen remodel currently, but if you are able to donate then reach out and ask about needs for the warming station. Winter isn't too far off and the need is greater this year than it has been in a long time. Share the love my friends.

Good Evening Friends! If you keep an eye on some of our local non-profits you may have noticed that Bangor Area Homeless Shelter posted today looking for lunch and dinner help (30 individually packaged portions) for the last two weeks of October while their kitchen gets some much needed love. We've reached out about covering two dinners during this time. Once I've confirmed the dates I would love to have one or two people help me for an hour or so to get everything portioned out. If you'd like to send a donation in support of the two dinners/treats my paypal account is attached to [email protected] . As ALWAYS, thank you for your continued support. It takes a village

We took this box of assorted cupcakes over to the front/ back of the house crew at Mason's Brewing Company today as a surprise. Make sure you're taking care of your restaurant service industry folks at your favorite establishments, they are trying to manage long hours and a huge influx of customers with shifting regulations. Show them some love and appreciation!

Video update! Many layers of paint stripper and several power washes later, we are almost down to the original metal finish. Two months of emailing, one broken window, one window that was half the size we ordered and finally... the correct window is here! Measuring and cutting for installation this evening while we distract the kids with pizza. Getting closer!!

Forward progress! Mr. Sweet Willamina has built out a brand new back end for Rosie. The service window will now be installed on the side so I can see all of your beautiful faces better! He also crafted this genius roll out system so that I can easily move and operate the 300lb generator outside of the truck. ♡
