For of those who are in Hallsville or in the surrounding area and would like to be trained to help in a national disaster in Hallsvillle or wherever you get asked to go to. Please contact us. This link will tell you everything about the Origination.

The following is info on the big amount of training that is required. You get more training on same or different stuff during our monthly meetings.
"If you have not had the basic CERT class yet, see below. Chief Westhoff got hold of this information and passed it along to me. Look at the last paragraph that starts with January 2012. There are 2 different options for you. Get trained and start coming to the meetings. We would love to get you on board!

There are two opportunities for new volunteers to get involved with CERT:
Saturday, December 10: CERT Quarterly Training - Potential new volunteers are welcome to attend at the Columbia Fire Department Training Academy, 700 Big Bear, on Saturday, December 10, 2011, 8:00am to approximately 3:00pm. The topics of this training session are light search and rescue, cribbing and fire extinguisher training.
January 2012: CERT Training for new volunteers. Two training sessions will be offered in January: January 13 (6-10 p.m.) and January 14 & 15 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) OR January 16-20, 6-10 p.m. Volunteers should attend one session."
