The kitchen is abuzz with meal prep for tonight’s sold out Farm-to-Table Duck or Meatball Dinner. We’ve got Millsap Farm apples, onions & sweet potatoes. Herbs, flowers, meat & honey was organically raised on our own land.  We’re using coral mushrooms we foraged & dehydrated last year.
We’ve got 800 feet of twinkle lights & a chandelier in the treetops. Delectable tunes by Brian & Jodi along with a warm bourbon apple crisp finale. It’s really all shaping up to be quite magical.
Tyler remembered to take pictures while we were prepping decor. She’ll probably also remember to take pictures throughout the day and this evening. She’s clever like that.
Abby has paths raked, fire pit tended, benches quilted & heaters blasting. She’s mighty like that!

Elvis and I are up late working on the duck dinner menu for next week. Well, I’m up late. Elvis has left the conversation.
Anyhoo… It’s almost done (yum)

If you only go to one tag sale this year, I’d recommend this one.
Funds raised go towards women’s scholarships. I received one of these 35 years ago and it made all the difference for me.

The Monday after a big Hootennanny I try to throttle down to about 15% productivity. As long as the washing machine or dishwasher is humming, I don’t pressure myself to finish tearing down if I can help it. 
So I’m enjoying this sunny little corner of the tent to munch potluck leftovers and reflect on all the sweet guests here for our barbershop evening. Thank you all for sharing your time & talents: the music, the food, the enthusiastic audience, the set up, the teardown.  Over 50 of you poured onto the farm last night, ages 18 to 99 and it all went so smoothly.
We hope Picnic, Pie Supper & Piping Hot Barbershop becomes an annual tradition the weekend before the guys go to competition.
Wishing 7th and Main & The Chorduroys all the best this weekend. You sure wowed us!
As always we’d love to see your pictures and hope to see you next year, if not sooner.

I just adore meteor showers. My eyes will be on the sky, hot beverage in hand, this Thursday evening, October 8 for the Draconid meteor shower. I appreciate that it peaks right after sunset, rather than after midnight like most other showers.

Here we are enjoying the Geminids shower in the Rocky Mountains with our kids last December.

booth 154 Vintage Realm is closing next tuesday September 29. It’s bittersweet because the ladies here & all so great. Keep stopping in to visit our booth neighbors The Shelbrooke Collection & my sister’s cool booth across the aisle. Keep an eye out for some pop-up markets at the farm.

Ms. Long’s Kindergarten for grownups was such great fun. We are so grateful to one of our star students for capturing these events of the day. Class was moved into the air-conditioning, so it was cozy but no one seemed to mind. Everyone made a beautiful bouquet to take to a friend, got a birthday buddy and got in touch with their inner pigeon. Thanks to everyone who stayed after school to help clean up. The janitor seems to be on vacation. Hopefully someone got pictures of the granny pants game.
