Having a home bakery sounds like all fun and games, right? Baking cookies, making breads, decorating cakes… until you realize it also comes with a 3:30 AM baking schedule. 😅
What people don’t always see is everything happening behind the scenes.
I work a full-time job, have kids involved in extracurricular activities, and volunteer heavily with Girl Scouts. Most days, my schedule starts at 6 AM and doesn’t slow down until around 7 PM. Somewhere around of all that, I have to find time to run a bakery.
And sometimes, that means getting up at 3:30 in the morning to bake before the rest of the world wakes up.
Don’t get me wrong, I genuinely love baking. It’s something I’m passionate about, and I’m grateful I get to share it with others. But balancing a career, motherhood, volunteering, and running a small business is A LOT.
Some days I wonder why I thought adding a bakery to my already chaotic schedule was a good idea. 😂
But then I finish a cake, get a sweet message from a customer, or see someone enjoying something I made, and I’m reminded why I do it.
So here’s to all the women juggling careers, families, passions, and everything in between. We’re tired, probably running on caffeine, but somehow we’re making it work. ❤️
