This is a painful post to write, and sorry, it won’t be brief. It breaks my heart to announce that Blazing Fresh Donuts will permanently close on 1/1/2024. Our lease was up, which forced me to think about whether I wanted to continue doing this for another year or two. After much soul searching, I’ve decided it’s time to do something new. Connecting with our customers (especially the young ones) and seeing them enthusiastically embrace our donuts has been my favorite part of owning this store for 5 years. If I only had a nickel for each time one of you told me this was the best donut you’d ever eaten… I’m going to miss seeing you all, miss planning new menus, miss being part of your celebrations and weekly routines, miss being called “the donut lady” when I see you outside the store, miss reading your glowing social media reviews, and miss working alongside some amazing young people. You’ve made it clear that we aren’t just any old bakery for you, and that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
On to the practical bit: we’ll be open through 12/31 so please come in to use your gift cards, redeem your loyalty awards, complete your donut passports, buy a commemorative BFD t-shirt, and give me a hug to say goodbye!
