🌿☀️ Hello, June! ☀️🌿

There is just something special about June.

The days are a little longer, the garden is growing, the birds are singing before sunrise, the rooster is crowing, and everything seems to come alive with fresh possibilities.

As I walk through the garden each morning, watching tiny seedlings becoming thriving plants, I'm reminded that growth takes time—but it is always worth the wait.

This season feels especially exciting for me.
Behind the scenes, through the trials, I've been consciously working hard to continue bringing my dream to life as I prepare my new farmstand and farm store.

There is still much to do, but each step forward fills me with anticipation and gratitude.

I can't wait to share more with all of you as things continue to come together and we move closer to opening in the hopefully near future!

June also marks the beginning of so many of the simple, old-fashioned joys that make life beautiful.

🍉 Watermelon juice running down your face
🚜The smell of fresh-cut grass.
🇺🇸Patriotic celebrations
🎆 Fireworks lighting up the summer sky.
🥰Making memories that become treasured stories for years to come.

In a world that often feels rushed and complicated, I find myself drawn more and more to these simple moments—the ones that remind us what truly matters.

This summer, my prayer is that we all slow down a little, savor the season, make memories with those we love, and find joy in the everyday blessings God places right in front of us.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I have so many exciting things planned for & Restoration Homestead Farmstand & Cottage Bakery👩‍🍳 and I can't wait to share them with you.

What to Direct Sow in "JUNE", and What to Start Indoors RIGHT NOW 🌱

Miss This Window and You'll Wait All Summer for Nothing, Your Complete June Planting Decision Guide, Save This! 📌

June feels like summer is in full swing…
But here's what most gardeners don't realize until it's too late 👇

June isn't just about enjoying what's already growing.

June is the most STRATEGIC planting month of the entire year.

Because in June you're making TWO completely different decisions at the same time:

🌱 Decision 1: What warm-season crops can I STILL direct sow outside right now for a summer harvest?

🪴 Decision 2: What fall crops do I need to START INDOORS NOW — so they're ready to transplant in August when the heat breaks?

In Zones 3–4, planting anything before June 1st is basically gambling — so June is actually the FIRST safe direct-sow month for northern gardeners.

And for everyone else? The beginning of June is when you continue planting direct-seeded warm season vegetable crops such as beans, summer squash, and cucumbers — while simultaneously starting your fall garden pipeline indoors.

Get both decisions right this month and you harvest straight through November.

Get them wrong and your garden goes quiet in August. 😔

☀️ FINALLY... SOME SUNSHINE AFTER ALL THE RAIN LATELY!! ☀️

After what feels like forever, we finally got a beautiful day to work outside, and frankly, I couldn't wait to get my hands in the dirt! ❤️

Today has been all about tackling projects around the homestead—working on the lawn, my raised garden bed area, and adding some landscaping around my future farmstand/store. 🏠

Every little improvement makes the dream feel a little more real, and that is such an encouraging feeling….especially when we have some pretty heavy stuff going on right now that I haven’t shared with many, yet!! 🥹

But, can we talk about my Walmart garden center haul for a minute? 🌿🤩

I absolutely hit the jackpot on their clearance rack out there!! 🎰
I found several beautiful plants that had been marked way down simply because they looked a little sad and neglected.

💦 Honestly, most of them were just thirsty. A good drink of water, a little TLC, and they're already looking happy & healthy 🪴
I guess their lack of care became my gain. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've always loved rescuing plants. There's something so satisfying about taking something that's been overlooked, giving it a little attention, and watching it thrive again….

Kind of reminds me of how I am with people, too. I’ve always owned businesses where I helped others grow and become stronger and healthier, and I always try to encourage others.

That’s how God works in our own lives through the trials we face, as well ❤️
I gotta say, He must think I’m REALLY strong, with all the trials I’ve faced and continue to face….but I know He is with me and will sustain me. 🙌🏻

Between the sunshine, the fresh air, the birds singing, and making progress on projects I've been dreaming about for so long, today has been good for the soul.
Now, if the weather will just cooperate,
I have a feeling this little corner of the homestead is going to be looking pretty amazing before long! 🌻🏡🌿❤️

PLUS, I’ve got some amazing honeysuckle and wild blackberries to harvest, and some Morning Glory’s to transplant 🌸
