Memorial Day always feels a little quieter to me. It’s not just the start of summer or a long weekend, it’s a day that makes you pause.
A day where you find yourself thinking about people who came before you… the ones whose stories were told often, and the ones you wish you had asked more about.
So many of those stories live in photos. A uniform, a handwritten note on the back of a picture, a moment frozen in time that simply says, this person was here, and they mattered.
And over the years, I’ve noticed that these are often the images families hold onto the tightest, even if they’re tucked away in a box or buried somewhere in a camera roll.
Today feels like a good day to go find one of those photos.
To hold onto it a little longer, to remember the story behind it, and to make sure it’s not lost over time.
Because remembering isn’t just about looking back, it’s about keeping those stories present in a way that lasts.
Wishing you a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.
