Well friends… apparently the universe has decided that the **Distracted Baker needs another weekend off from the Farmer’s Market.** 😂

After missing the market the past few weeks due to a combination of **illness and work trips**, we were really hoping to finally get back out there this weekend.

But Mother Nature has other plans. 🌧️💨

With the **imminent inclement weather**, we’ve made the decision to **forgo the Farmer’s Market this week** rather than risk bad weather, unsafe travel, and soggy bread. Because while sourdough can handle a LOT… I don't think it needs a weather adventure. 😂

🍞❤️ **A LITTLE DETOUR FOR THE DISTRACTED BAKER THIS WEEKEND** ❤️🍞

Well friends… it looks like the **ENTIRE Distracted Baker team** has decided that this week’s special is apparently **“Whatever Germs Are Going Around.”** 🤧😂

Unfortunately, we’re all under the weather, and while we LOVE seeing y’all at the **Butler County Farmer’s Market**, there are a few things more important than bread—like making sure we’re keeping our customers, fellow vendors, and our community healthy.

So, with a little disappointment (and a whole lot of cough drops 😂), **we will NOT be at the market this Saturday.**

This is one of those times where we have to put our health and **food safety standards first**. ❤️ We’d much rather take the time to fully recover than risk bringing germs along with our bread.

Okay friends… the bread table is getting a little crowded, so I’m doing what any slightly distracted baker would do…

**MARKDOWN. IT. DOWN.** 😂🙌

We’ll be at the **Butler County Farmer’s Market tomorrow morning at 7 AM** with **LEFTOVER LOAVES FROM SATURDAY’S MARKET — NOW HALF PRICE!** 🎉🍞

These loaves are only a **few days past fresh-baked**, so while they are still absolutely delicious, they **will not have the same typical shelf life as a fresh-from-the-oven loaf.** They should still be good for several more days when stored properly in the refrigerator—or better yet…

❄️ **FREEZE IT FOR LATER!**

This is also the PERFECT opportunity if you've been sitting on the sourdough fence thinking:

*"I've always wanted to try sourdough, but I don't know if I'll like it."* 🤔

**HALF PRICE is a pretty low-risk way to find out!** Come grab a loaf, give it a try, and see what all the fuss is about. ❤️

# # # ❄️ EASY SOURDOUGH FREEZING + THAWING TIPS

**To freeze:**
🍞 Slice the loaf before freezing so you can grab exactly what you need later.
🛍️ Wrap tightly or place in a good freezer bag, squeezing out as much air as possible.
❄️ Freeze for up to a couple of months for best quality.

**To thaw:**
➡️ Take out only what you need and let slices thaw at room temperature for a few minutes.

**For a whole/half loaf:**
➡️ Let it thaw at room temperature while wrapped.
➡️ Once thawed, pop it into a **350°F oven for about 10–15 minutes** to bring that crusty, fresh-baked texture back.

**For individual slices:**
➡️ Straight into the toaster from frozen! 🙌
➡️ Or warm in the oven/air fryer until heated through.

And there you go… **bread resurrection.** 😂🍞✨
