We are proud to announce that pastry chef, Holly Smith of , will be HAPPY to fulfill orders for customers this holiday season!!! It is bittersweet to say goodbye after a whole decade. We have finally decided to close our family owned and operated business to pursue other passions that mark a new season of life. I cannot possibly begin to express the gratitude I have to each and every customer that I have had the pleasure to bake for, talk to and develop friendships with over the last 10 years.
Little did you know that at the time Marvelous Pies was established, circa 2009, I was a struggling single Mom with two boys ages 4 and 7. I took a voluntary layoff from a corporate position to pursue my dream of entrepreneur and full time Mom. My first unemployment check of $280.00 funded sparse ingredients to bake only 12 Apple Pies to take to The Flat Rock Farmers Market in September 2009. Every bit of profit went into ingredients and supplies. We would hand pick, strawberries, apples and peaches to save money and I baked when my boys were asleep, allowing me to never again lose all the precious moments with them. As a family, we baked over 10,000 pies, sold at farmers markets and holiday fairs in SC, NC and TN. The downtown Greenville Saturday morning market created such a loyal customer base that behind the scenes I was able to create another business and follow my passion again to advocate for children in family court.
I have been blessed beyond measure, my dreams surpassed exponentially and I am left eternally grateful for all of those that have supported Marvelous Pies, especially π I hope to see you all again, you never know when or where Marvelous Pies will pop again!
Happy holidays to all of my amazing customers and friends. Best of luck to you, Holly Smith, as you venture into your decade of success.
