The usual care taker of the LFP will be gone for most of the coming week... If you have been thinking about helping out, this week would be a great time to do so!

I have been trying to NOT over stuff the pantry lately as someone or someones have been taking advantage of our generosity, so please try NOT to overfill the pantry... it just encourages abuse, but still be helpful for those who really need the temporary help that this resource provides.

Our thanks to all who have been making this resource a success. I know our neighbors have appreciated it!

The person who most often does the checking on the Little Free Pantry at UUCG will be away for a few weeks, so we could use some help.

There is a lot of food for the pantry in the Library, if you are in the area and know the code to enter the church, please step up to take a visual inventory of what is needed and see if there is some of that in the Library.

Alternately, when you are shopping in Greenville, if you could pick up a little more for the pantry, that would be awesome, too! If there is not enough room in the pantry (always a good thing!) and you have access to the interior of the church, please store the extra in the library.

Someone left this wonderfully inspirational painted rock in the LFP. How sweet!

We can always use canned meats (chicken, tuna, etc.), Shelf stable milk (Parmalat, Lala, Dairy Pure, etc.), PB&J, canned soups, and canned veggies.

We can also use whatever it is that YOU would be happy to find in there, if you were in need of a few days worth of food for your family.

Our thanks to all of you who have donated in the past... you are all so awesome!

Supplies are getting low at the LFP.

One of the things we use most is shelf stable milk. These are in a quart sized container. Brand names include Parmalat and Lala. They are usually in the baking section, but sometimes are in the cereal aisle.

Canned chicken, tuna and ham probably are the most taken items. They can be added used for dinners and lunches many ways.

We also can use canned soups and veggies.

AND... anything else you can think of to buy especially for this pantry OR anything you have extra in your closets.

Thanks to the generous person who left nearly a full case of Ensure at the Little Free Pantry. I brought that over to the good people at Cancer Services of Eastern NC. They also have a food pantry for the benefit of any cancer patient in need and are more likely to be able to help someone with your generosity.

Providing resources, support, and education for individuals, families and caregivers who are affected by cancer.

A big thank you to the person who left a bunch of Soy milk in the LFP! I've put much of that into our supply closet for future use! And thanks again to the Covenant Church who sent a lot of their miscellaneous food distribution supplies our way!

The Little Free Pantry is back to "normal" with the person or persons who had been taking advantage of the resource stopped.

We are in need of more shelf-stable milk (brand names like Parmalat and Lala). These are usually in the same aisle as baking supplies, although it is sometimes with the soy and nut milks in the cereal aisles.

We also can use some jelly. I try to keep the pantry supplied with PB&J makings, as that is a fairly nutritious lunch which most children like.

Our sincere thanks to ALL of our community who are making this resource possible and to the people who are using it to make ends meet until payday. You are why we are here and we hope that someday you will be in a position to "Pay it Forward" in the future.

Hey, there! Someone(s) have been taking advantage of the generosity of the people making this Little Free Pantry possible.

This LFP is for the use of ALL the community. It is a resource for those who are a little short until payday and need a meal or two. It is funded by the generosity of the members of this church and others. This generosity is limited. We are not rich!

This LFP is not meant to be a substitute for shopping or for a visit to a local food bank. Food banks are funded by grants, donations from large companies and by generous donors. They have many more resources than have we.

If the LFP continues to be “raided”, we will have to stop filling it. That would hurt people who really rely on this resource. Thanks for your cooperation.

We could use some backup supplies! We are almost out of quart sized container of shelf stable milk, either Lala or Parmalat brands. Find these in the "bakery" section of the grocery store.

We also can use some more snacks... as healthy as you can manage and still have them appealing to little ones. And, as always, canned tuna and chicken breast is appreciated.
