To our Sanctuary House Friends, Family, and Community,
We deeply value your dedication to the operations of A Sweet Success! Bakery, a program of Sanctuary House.

It is with mixed emotions we share this update.
After months of thoughtful review with our board of directors, advisers, and partners, we have reached the decision to close our social-entrepreneurial program, A Sweet Success! Bakery.

All wholesale contracts will be honored through October 12, 2023.

A limited retail bakery menu will be available through September 22, while our supplies last.

We are using this opportunity to prioritize our mental health/Sanctuary House services that have the greatest wellness impact on adults who experience a diagnosis of mental illness.

Priorities include:
• Clubhouse Programming
• Employment/Education programming
• Housing Expansion
• Outpatient/Clinical Services Array
• Tailored Care Management/Care Coordination

Overall, we have taken steps to minimize the impact this decision will have on Sanctuary House members and the community.

We appreciate the tremendous support we have received over the 13 years of A Sweet Success! operations. We will continue to be excellent stewards of our resources and provide transformational services that align with our mission and yield significant impact in our community.

While this decision to close operations of A Sweet Success! is a bittersweet end to an amazing chapter of Sanctuary House’s service to our members and community, we come prepared to continue the delivery of high-quality mental health services. Making a difference will still be a piece of cake!

We extend special appreciation to A Sweet Success! bakery manager, Angie Murray, for her leadership and talent working with our bakery and members. We are pleased that Angie will continue her work with Sanctuary House and our members at our Clubhouse location.

On behalf of all of us at Sanctuary House, thank you for your continued support.

Our Story

A Sweet Success Bakery is a program of the Sanctuary House, a non-profit organization in Greensboro. The mission of Sanctuary House is to facilitate the recovery of adults with serious mental illness in Guilford County so that the individuals may achieve and sustain meaningful, satisfying roles and lives in the community.

All the proceeds generated at a Sweet Success! Bakery go back into programming at Sanctuary House. With each purchase you are helping others in our community and getting a delicious made from scratch dessert.

Our desserts are made fresh to order. We do ask for at least 48 hours notice for standard orders. We would appreciate a weeks notice for any specialty order such as a birthday cake or decorated sugar cookies. We will gladly deliver within the Greensboro city limits for a minimal fee. If you need something and it is not during our regular business hours, Harris Teeter at Friendly Center carries a variety of our baked goods.
