A Little Note from Your Local Bakery 💛
We’ve been following all the conversations this week after the announcement about Crumbl possibly coming to town, and we wanted to share our perspective.
Some might assume we'd be against another bakery opening in our community—but the truth is, we're not.
We understand the importance of supporting local businesses, and we’re incredibly grateful for every customer who chooses to support us. At the same time, we believe there’s room for everyone. Every bakery offers something unique, and it’s ok to have more than one that you support. While Crumbl may provide a consistent option for those last-minute cookie cravings, we focus on small-batch, from-scratch baked goods (apparently too sweet for some people, and that’s ok!) made with the personal touch that only a small business can offer. There’s room for both and that’s totally ok! Their potential arrival also brings new job opportunities for teens and adults in our community, and that’s something worth celebrating.
With so many new faces here, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce ourselves.
We're a small family operation—a mom and her two daughters (and yes, Dad also gets recruited as an employee whether he likes it or not! He builds the things we need and we pay him with cookies 😂). Between us, we're full-time moms, full time nurses, a grandma, and a paraprofessional. We bake around our families and careers, which means some weeks we have more time to fill the shelves than others.
Because of that, we aren't able to keep regular hours seven days a week. We do our best to post our weekly schedule, and while we know we can improve, sometimes life happens. Packaging gets delayed, sourdough starter has a mind of its own, or family responsibilities just simply come first.
What we can promise is this: we'll continue baking as often as we can and always put our hearts into what we make. If you stop by and our shelves aren't as full as usual or our gate is closed, it simply means we're doing our best to balance it all while still serving our community.
One question we hear often is, "Why don't you have a sign out front?" We'd love to! Unfortunately, because we operate under a home occupancy permit in our subdivision, we're not allowed to have exterior business signage. We actually had a beautiful sign when we first opened, but it had to come down the very next day after a complaint. We know you've seen other home businesses with signs, but unfortunately those rules have been enforced differently for us.
If you've made it this far, we just want to say thank you.
Thank you for supporting our little family business. Thank you for selling us out, sharing our posts, participating in our community fundraisers, and cheering us on. We truly have some of the best customers anyone could ask for.
And if you happened to grab a cookie in the famous pink box this week... we still love you. 😅 Truth be told, we've picked up those pink boxes ourselves while visiting Utah!
At the end of the day, we're simply grateful to be part of a community that loves baked goods. Thank you for supporting local, supporting small businesses, and supporting us. We can't wait to keep baking for you. ❤️ Hopefully the flour settles soon in our small community 🤞😅
