Baking the Rainbow Rave Cookies for the Columbus Cookie Classic Cookbook Challenge was such a beautiful, sprinkle-filled fun adventure!

The energy in the room was joyful and positive and I got to bring home 25 treats to try with my boys 🍪

Added bonus - it was such a relief when the actual recipe turned out much better than the halved and glow-in-the-dark practice version!!

Friday Cookie Chats - An experiment gone…weird? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am participating in a Cookbook Challenge this weekend and decided to do a little practice play on my recipe, half batch, halloween theme using and some new “glowing” sprinkles.

They are kind of a mess, did not photograph well (even though the glow did kind of glow) but tasted really yummy!

I can’t wait to see how my actual recipe turns out, keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Today Ivan thought a homemade comics that some of his classmates made was hilarious, Otto was thankful for having a mystery reader (and is desperately waiting for me to show up one of these times) and Felix would, of course, be a moose.

I have had a few requests for cookie kits recently so I wanted to put it out there for others to know - yes, I do make and sell cookie kits!

My kids love decorating their own, they always add a little more icing than me and A LOT more toppings!

This is an example of a 6 cookie kit for fall and it costs $15, a full dozen would be $25.

All kits are made to order - you can decide the theme, cookie shapes & icing colors. I’ll be making a Halloween kit in the near future and also have a Thanksgiving kit and plenty of options for winter holidays and festivities.

Friday Cookie Chats - These peanut butter cookies have absolutely no connection to Dolly Parton (I couldn’t figure out anything banana pudding or Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa Cake related that the boys would try) but we celebrated 9-25 with a few of our favorite books from the Imagination Library, a dance party & learning so many facts about her that Otto learned in school today 🥹 We talked about how we could do small things to make a big impact and about how kindness and following your heart is the true key to success and happiness.

For our official cookie question we settled on which Dolly song was their favorite and they all enthusiastically picked “Applejack.”

Friday Cookie Chats (and taste test for tomorrow’s Autumn Equinox event!!) - Chocolate & Vanilla shortbread dippers!

I love shortbread. I love buttercream. It only made sense to pair them together in this little transportable treat.

Ivan - His favorite thing he did at school this week was Brown Bag Breakfast 🥹
Otto - He would sell dinosaur bones 🦕🦖🦴😳 and lemonade!
Felix - Kindness means helping someone up when they fall down 🥹

It wasn’t a warm scone Wednesday but it was the most special morning spent with one of my boys. Of course the one I cut open was lacking excessive chocolate on the inside but the others that we sampled definitely were not! Super thankful for this time with my kiddo.

Friday Cookie Chats - My super samplers got to try a few cookies from a big batch I’m working on for the weekend. I’ll be wearing lots of hats today and hopefully they’ll be having lots of fun 😊

I - He said he would be a hawk because he wants to fly!
O - His favorite part of school this week was art class 🎨
F - He would like to learn how to build a life size fortress out of Legos!

Friday Cookie Chats featuring our favorite Bear Scout crew! We’re hosting a Cub Scout campout this weekend which immediately made me think of the bear family shenanigans & also happened to pair perfectly with these adorable cookies that have been on my “must-do” list for a long time.

I did cheat and use store bought Teddy Grahams but when I make them again I’ll probably make my own little bear cookies.

Our question this week was: What is your favorite thing about camping?
I - Sleeping out in the wilderness & having fun with friends ⛺️
O - Sleeping with all the sounds of nature around me 🦗
F - Hearing tree frogs 🐸

We gifted two extra cookies to some friends who both enthusiastically answered with, “S’MORES!!”

Friday Cookies Chats - Is it ice cream? Is it a cookie? Is it AMAZING? Yes, yes it is! These were more fun and more delicious than I expected, and as an added bonus I did add a small scoop of ice cream in the bottom of the cone. It was a much deserved over the top treat for finishing our first full week back at school.

I - He felt brave when he stood up in front of his whole class to present his train project 🚂😍
O - He didn’t want to admit it but he learned that sometimes you may have a classmate that can be difficult to get along with (even if you’re the kid who can usually get along with everyone 🥺).
F - He wants to be a superhero who has a candy blowing jet pack 🍬🍭🍫
