This is a long one - so bear with me~
It’s 4:00 in the morning, my house is quiet, the scones are in the oven, and nearly every available inch of my tiny home kitchen is covered in cinnamon rolls. 🥹
Today is officially my biggest bake day to date.
When I started Kayla’s Crumb Creations, I never could have imagined mornings like this…waking up while the rest of the world is still sleeping, turning on the oven, and seeing order after order lined up across the kitchen. All of these pans have someone’s name attached to them. Someone chose to spend their hard-earned money on something I created with my own two hands, right here in my home, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain how much that means to me.
This little kitchen isn’t fancy. It’s usually crowded, there are kids’ things somewhere they don’t belong, and today it’s functioning like a carefully organized game of Tetris. 😂 But this is where every batch is mixed, rolled, filled, baked, frosted, labeled, and packaged with so much love.
There have been plenty of moments when I’ve questioned myself, felt overwhelmed, or wondered whether I could actually grow this little dream into something real. Then I stand here at 4 a.m., look at a kitchen full of orders, and realize that it’s already becoming real.
Today I’m baking 96 cinnamon rolls and 12 cranberry-orange scones—the most I have ever taken on for one pickup day. I’m exhausted, nervous, incredibly grateful, and honestly a little emotional.
